Ultimate Rail-Pod

Ultimate Rail-Pod

CTK Precision is now offering something they call the Ultimate Rail-Pod. This is a mini-monopod designed to attach to the underside of a rifle buttstock that is built with a Picatinny rail. According to CTK, the two-stage design gives the shooter about 3″ of adjustment in the height of the monopod, which translates to about 360″ of potential adjustment at 100 yards.

CNC machined from billet 6061 aluminum, the Rail-Pod weighs 5.6 ounces. The pod folds 90˚ for compact storage when not in use. While it will work with any buttstock that has a Picatinny rail, the company states it is “ideal for the Magpul PRS stock.”

MSRP is $160.

  • James Kachman

Why not put it on the front of the rifle?

  • Rick

wow. why so much? even the cheapest monopods are $WTF.

    • DrewN

Right? Even the cheaper ones are as much as a Harris bipod usually. It’s ridiculous.

I’ve never understood this. I can’t find a halfway decent monopod for anywhere near a reasonable price. I am a mechanical engineer and understand how deceptively simple products can be expensive to develop/manufacture, and need to charge a premium price. But I still don’t understand how monopods are so expensive. I’m guessing its just an economics thing… low demand? Still surprises me.
