A few more interesting homemade submachine guns have appeared among firearms seized by West Australian police.

Below is a version of the Bill Holmes home workshop SMG design:

This example is a copy of the S&W M76 and accepts Sterling SMG magazines.

This interesting looking example slightly resembles the Australian F1 smg, but with the magazine position reversed and what appears to be an integral suppressor.

An obligatory P.A Luty expedient machine pistol also makes a return:

Fantastic post as always. What about that Maglite, has it been converted into a zip-gun?

And for consistency’s sake, obligatory “Bring back the dedicated ImproGuns blog!” appeal.

  • These posts would make excellent research fodder for aspiring post-apocalyptic fiction authors.

Do I see a bolt-action deer gun cut down to pistol size?

Proof that fascist gun control doesn’t work. I also see many Chinese weapons now being in the hands of the “Biker” gangs down under.

Lance, the really unfortunate conundrum about this situation is the issue of general gun control legislation that affects everyone in the eyes of the law, versus depriving the biker gangs of weaponry and keeping them under control. I don’t know how much you know about Aussie biker gangs, but i will tell you that they are extremely violent and live much too close to the surface. The result is a significant social and material impact on ordinary citizens and society as a whole that no-one asked for.

They did the guys a favor by seizing that Maglite.

Will the Improguns blog ever be back?

You can’t stop the signal, Mal.

  • Correction: South Australian Police. Emblem in the background of the main pic is the part of the state flag, displaying the piping shrike.

This is the first time I have ever seen a Bill Holmes weapon actually made. My understanding was that his books were less than reliable when it came to making weapons. Perhaps I am wrong. Do you have any other pictures of Bill Holmes guns?

And our Government says its the LAFO’s that need more police attention.

guess that gun ban is doing wonders there
