SilencerCo Special Announcement: A shotgun suppressor?

IMG_3203

SilencerCo has invited a bunch of distributors, media, and VIPs to a secret event tomorrow and Tuesday in the Salt Lake City, Utah area. They are keeping it really low key, but also hyping up how much fun the product(s) and the party will be.

Here’s an unboxing of what I received in the mail. The reason I think it may be a shotgun suppressor is because of the included copper shotgun shell. Note the “999 CU” on the headstamp.

lol, or just really tired having come home at 10PM from traveling home all day.

I made the correction, and am heading back to the airport for today’s event! I will be posting again later today.

Upvote for taking less than constructive criticism in good humor :)

  • Nick Burlile

It’s solid copper, not brass. The markings mean .999% pure copper.

    • Andrew

Only .999% pure, huh? So it’s not even 1/10th of a percent copper? What’s the other 99.001% made out of?

      • Mystick

        Ooops ;)

      • Nick Burlile

Oops. Forgive me, I was at the end of a twelve-hour work shift. Put the decimal in the wrong place.

        • JohnnyBGood

the irony here being the author made a similar mistake for a similar reason

  • Mike

    Copper colored squirt gun?

It would be wonderful if they picked up where AAI left off with their “telecartridge” and produced a silent shotgun shell: http://photos.imageevent.com/ricklarson/gunshowdisplays/PICT0076.JPG

Oh why dont i get invited to these things….oh wait the incident at SHOT and the lack of pants and the golf cart….and the flame thrower…and the horse head….and the bar tab…and the damage bill.

  • Mike Ackermann

That would be a solid copper shell: “Cu” is the elemental symbol for copper.

  • Bill

Jeez, all this high school chemistry and not one mention of Anton Chighur? (Im not sure I spelled his name right but I can’t reach my copy of the book)

    • bbmg

I think that for most gun enthusiasts the scene from “No country for old men” wasn’t the first they had heard of the concept of a suppressed shotgun.

  • Bill

Will there be boats and hos?

  • G0rdon_Fr33man

BR-Reflex out of Finland are making shotgun suppressors. Works pretty well with slugs.

  • Julio

    I quite like this one.

  • Julio

Or for the a properly OTT approach to “stealthy” shotgun shooting, this…

  • kojak

I’d be pretty ticked if I had to go to a Catalina wine mixer and it turned out to be in Utah.

  • DeathB4Dishonr

    I want a copper shotgun shell =(
