Samsung Galaxy S5 Battle Case

As an unashamed Android fanboy, I am pleased to see the first rugged “tactical” style case available for the Samsung Galaxy S5 phone. The Strike Industries case is available in black of Flat Dark Earth. It is made out of TPU, a polymer which holds up well to abuse.

On a side note: the Galaxy S5 is IP67 waterproof out of the factory and it has a removable battery. In combination with this case you have a phone suitable for pretty harsh conditions and extended travel. My Galaxy S4 (not waterproof), in combination with a similar case, has been around the world with me, including very wet and also very dry/dusty parts of third world countries. I carry four batteries, two Samsung factory batteries and two 3000mah Zero Lemon batteries, along with an external battery charger and two small Ziploc bags (the ziplocs are for waterproofing when I need it, such as hiking through a wet rain forest). This combination gives me just under a week of battery life (using GPS + offline mapping applications, music and the camera).

Strike Industries told me that the first 10 people to post a photo of their Galaxy S5, with the TFB homepage loaded up in the web browser, will get a free Battle Case. If you want one, post a photo.

UPDATE: Strike will be giving away another 5 cases (for a total of ten).
