Nice to to see someone explioting their rifle’s potential.

That lower hit looks like it ricocheted off the ground if it hit sideways.

    • bbmg

Yup, same thing happened here shooting from even further: http://youtu.be/t5MJI6NII68

Aaahhh… good call. Was wondering how it could have even come close hitting sideways like that. (ballistics noob)

With 800ft-lbs of energy at 1.4 mile left, this is clearly capable of ‘incapacitation’ – ten times over. Dangerous device for sure.

    • bbmg

Approximately twice the energy of 9mm at point blank range, and since the bullet has a smaller frontal area and is much heavier, there is a much higher sectional density which means it is an excellent penetrator, certainly a projectile to be reckoned with for the anti-matériel role.

      • dp

I like that “anti-materiel” part of it :-)
Now, seriously, this is in real competition with 50BMG if we like it or not.

  • dp

It has MSRP of 2.5k, still quite reasonable: http://www.savagearms.com/firearms/model/110BA
The barrel is out of “carbon steel” therefore likely ‘just’ broached. Frame “aluminum” without saying if is of composite construction like AI or not.

    • Giolli Joker

2.5k + the Nightforce that I guess is no cheaper…

You could go ghetto and make do with a Vortex, but when you are slinging $5 rounds downrange why would you?

        • maverickps

… because you are slinging 5$ rounds downrange.

great article, I love it when he gets solid gong hits.

The sound of $5.40 traveling 1.43 miles. Priceless.
