Troy Industries has introduced new rails designed for the AK-47. Using their proven designs as a foundation, the Troy AK-47 rail is lightweight and modular, providing the AK shooter a lot of options for accessories such as lights, lasers, scopes, or sling mounts.

The AK47 top rail offers a 5-inch Picatinny rail section that will fit Russian, Romanian, Bulgarian, Chinese, US and other AK-47’s with a standard length gas tube (stamped and milled). This provides AK shooters a wealth of opportunities to add fixed, folding, or red dot sights.

Troy’s AK47 hand guard is machined from hardened aircraft aluminum with stainless steel components. The hand guard is finished in MIL-SPEC hard coat anodizing for protection from the elements and longevity. The AK-47 hand guard will only fit stamped receivers, however, not the milled variety. Troy advises that the hand guard will work with “some” Bulgarian, Romanian, and Egyptian lower hand guard retainers, but others may need some minor modifications to fit properly. Hey, it’s an AK-47, Dremel tool anyone?

The hand guard is replaced easily without the use of any gun-smithing tools. With the machined holes in the Troy AK-47 hand guard, the rail remains cool even during extended firing, and it increases heat dissipation compared to the standard AK-47 hand guard. Currently Troy is offering the hand guard in combination with the top rail, but the top rail can be purchased separately.

Unfortunately, the long bottom rail was conspicuously absent from the SHOT Show floor. The long bottom rail extends past the short bottom rail by 3.5 inches. In addition, the long bottom rail has a Picatinny rail on the top of the extension.
