A Free Gun Auction Website

The owner Tacticalauction.com sent us a message about his site. They are offering online gun auctions with absolutely no fees to buy or sell. Edward wrote …

I am a 21 retired US Army Special Operations Soldier. After my retirement I owned a 6000sqft Gun Store with Range and Classroom Facilities. I am now trying to give back to the community that has given me so much. We launched a firearms website about a month ago that is going to change how people sell, trade and buy firearms. Our mission is to promote Legal Firearm Ownership, Strengthen the 2nd Amendment and promote Outdoor Recreation. We are the only completely 100% Free online auction website.

I am not sure how sustainable this is going to be. Running an auction website is not trivial, but I wish them luck.

    Maybe ads will be enough.

    • I hope so I’d really like to see them succeed.

If they are truly sincere, I will second what you have already said. I honestly hope they will find a way to make this philosophy work through the harsh realities of the business world.

or selling the member information…though I would suspect that won’t last too long.

you are required to use a valid email and phonenumber, as per the user agreement

That would be a great idea. but running websites cost money. Ads would be the only way to sustain (unless someone is just donating money?)

but how reliable will it be? we all have seen the stories from other “Major” auction sites (both non and pro gun) about how people are scammed.

Hope this goes better than that.

A free auction website is going to devote 0 dollars to settling disputes. Better hope for the best.

But Gunbroker already has a terrible reputation for dealing with scam artists, so it may be moot.

    Anyone have any personal experiences?
