Leupold’s Tactical Jackhammer

tactical jackhammer

To prove that their Leupold VX3 scope could take pounding the Leupold crew mounted it onto a picatinny equipped “tactical” Bosch jachhammer. After 30 minutes of jackhammering, the scope was attached to a rifle and used to shoot a 3 round  1″ group at 100 yards.

The jackhammer is prominently displayed at thier SHOT Show booth.

    OK, I’m impressed.

if it were attatched to the bit and actually shook to hell I would go out and replace all my scopes with leupold pronto
but…… its connected to the body of the jackhammer which being a modern one has alot of anti vibration tech….. so in my opinion this is snake oil!!!!! screw you leupold for your snake oil charms! lets see you attatch it to the bit if you want me to give a crap, or I’ll head over to the trijicon booth and abuse the hell out of a rmr… again

      are you being serious?

OBVIOUSLY YOU HAVE NEVER USED A JACK HAMMER! IT WILL ROCK YOU TO THE CORE AND YOU MUST TAKE BREAKS OFTEN TO PREVENT INJURY! WHEN YOU GO HOME AT THE END OF THE DAY YOUR STILL FEELING THE HAMMER IN YOUR SHOULDERS! MOVING ALONG NOW! JETHRO!

I don’t know if I should be impressed or not. I just think it’s frankly ridiculous.

Don’t let the gun grabbers find out about this or they’ll list it under the sniper assault weapon ban list

Without accelerometer data comparing the force on the scope mounted to the jack hammer vs a .30-06 this does not mean much. A three round group is not a sufficient test for any rifle system. It’s visually impressive but dataless marketing nonetheless.

Ditto. I’m impressed. It’s the adjustments that fail on Leupolds though.

this isnt a real test its simply a dramatic demonstration and an effective one at that
