This Zombie thing is getting stupid now. Come on we got better chances of China invading the US west coast.

    • Jay

I agree on the zombie thing and I’m hoping China doesn’t do that…. Fallout would become a reality if it did.

    • Jacob

Zombies were always awesome. Everyone is just catching up. I’d classify Zombie invasion as the more likely of the two.

      As serious comment.

China doesn’t have a real navy. And the Chinese people really really really like Americans. The Chinese people are so open and friendly to Americans. I’d say the rival nations to the US are actually the other developed Democracies (and the like). Travel a bit and you’ll see the vocal (on tv) resentment from many developing countries because they feel like we meddle with them and/or don’t hear them. They’re not angry at me, or you or the American people. A lot of the developed countries are highly xenophobic and there’s a lot hostility toward Americans, bordering on hatred. This is just based on personal experience.

I would say, in all seriousness, that the U.S. is more likely to fall to zombies than China, at least in the next 50 years. Though, I am 99.9% sure these freakin’ Chinese stink bugs are a biological weapon.

Also, was that a reference to a Mitch Hedberg joke in the video? “I would like to have a product that was available for three easy payments, and one f***in’ complicated payment! We ain’t gonna tell you which payment it is, but one of these payments is gonna be a b****.”

Sure sell that kit, why not. Just don’t brand at as freaking zombie stuff.

    • David/Sharpie

      Why not?

  • D

It’s interesting to note that there’s a history of things like “vampire killing kits” that people fabricate and sell (and have for at least 50 years). This is just a (rather high-end) version of that; the collector’s value in 50 or 100 years would be astronomical especially if it was all in original packaging and such.

  • You guys notice the banner that says 10% off if you use the coupon code NEWSITE10 during checkout? I tried it and it knocked $2,399 off the final price. Nice savings there and I bet OpticsPlanet will kick themselves when and if someone uses it to buy that bundle! Coupon is good until 7/15 so you better hurry!

    • schizuki

So are you the owner, a major investor, or just a guy from the PR department?

    • Sid

I got the same 10% off on my purchase of the second kit. My wife and I agreed that having one kit at the base bunker is good but we cannot count on being able to arrive at the site should the outbreak catch us off-guard. We established the beta site and decided to equip it as well as our primary site.

      God help us.

  • Nater

All that cash and you don’t even get a good progressive press? By good progressive press, I mean a Dillon.

  • Sean

Someone will buy it, no doubt.
And if no one does, then people will blog and like the shit out of it. It will get a tun of views and people will want to at least buy the separate parts of the kit.

Underwriters Laboratories has nothing on their test labs.

    • noob

also needed for a really basic lab set up:

      Vortex mixer.

      Gel rig.

some way to get DNA primers

      PCR machine.

-20 freezer, -80 for RNA work.

A crap tonne of enzymes, nucleotides, antibodies etc.

Stains for the microscope slides to do any histology

A graduate student to do all the actual work (preferably asian, female, and cute).

Did they even include microscope slides or do we have to fabricate our own from the smashed window glass that’s layin all around?

On the other hand, if you’re dressing the set for a film, throwing a few pipettes on a white bench with a pipette shaker should be enough to get you by with a “this is a Lab”.

No PBS buffer and nitrile gloves = NO SALE

  • schizuki

    Make. It. Stop.

  • David/Sharpie

    Totally agree.

No one is forcing you to buy, if someones got the moolah they will buy.

Although a guy on my Zombie site (Yes, I belong to a zombie site, I enjoy talking about them) did work it out and this costs too much. It’s an extra about $4000 than buying it all together.

  • Doom

Man, Im glad this video wasnt serious, I love zombie games ( RE4 & WaW Nazi zombies) and movies (Dawn of the dead (new version) and shaun of the dead etc) but all these zombie products are retarded, and it makes me embarrassed to even talk about liking zombies so I dont get grouped together with the boners that buy this stupid crap. eugh…. this is worse than pink guns…

  • Chadd

I feel stupid… I can’t help but wonder how ridiculous the shipping and handling would be… AND I’m in California so I’d have to find an FFL and then pay to have 30 different safeties made for the guns.
I love zombies but this branding is getting so old now. I do like this add for some reason though.
