Faisal, a Malaysian reader of the blog, discovered a DIY pistol stock at a local flea market. According to the seller, it was a war trophy from his Army days and that it was originally fitted to a Browning Hi-Power pistol. This is the type of stock that Malaysian communists insurgents used during Malaysia’s 2nd Communist Insurgency.
If you look closely at the last few photos you will notice a trigger reset spring. Faisal noted that the spring resembles part of a safety pin.
This simple design could easily be made at home. If you do try to recreate it, be sure to follow all local laws regarding pistol carbine stocks.
[ Many thanks to Faisal for the information and fantastic photos. ]
