SIG to introduce ambidextrous pistols in 2012

Guns, Holsters & Gear reports

Sig P238SIG SAUER is expanding the popular P238 line to include models with an ambidextrous safety. It appears there will be five ambi safety models of the SIG P238 introduced at the 2012 SHOT Show.

The SIG P238 with the new ambi safety will be available in the following versions: black diamondplate, rosewood, desert, equinox and scorpion. All of these versions have become standard across much of the SIG SAUER line.

  • Good for them. I shoot lefty, so that’s always something that I pay attention to.

  • Burt Gummer

ITS ABOUT TIME! SIG is notorious on being the most lefty unfriendly pistols.

  • Stefan

While I like this “initiative” from SIG. I wonder what took them so long.

  • Good for them!

  • mosinman

i hope im not the only one that thinks the titanium rainbow finish is ugly. but if it gets someone to buy a pistol and start liking guns then that is good

Here’s a better question, if you had to pick, would you prefer the Sig with Titanium rainbow finish? Or a Hi Point pistol, one of the ugliest pistols in existence IMHO.

    • mosinman

well if it was between .380s then id take that ugly sig, but if you offered a 9mm or 45 hipoint id go with the hipoints
