Awesome! Can’t wait for the final piece.
Who shot the footage and on what camera? That kind od shallow depth of field can’t be achieved on a consumer camcorder.

@WSJ – Thanks for noticing my “attention to detail” in the Beretta video. I shot the video on a Nikon D7000 with a 24-120mm f/4 VRII mounted. The VR worked amazingly well!! All scenes were shot handheld and focused manually at f/4. Can’t wait to start compiling the final cut. . . . . We got a ton of footage from Beretta.

Awesome! This blog only getting better. =D

  • D7000 is a great camera

can’t wait for the final product too!

@Matt: That’s some excellent footage for a camera that wasn’t designed as a video camera in the first place. Well done!
My Panasonic HPX 171 is capable of capturing HD video, but focus shift between two objects only really works in full magnification / zoom. A good tripod comes highly recommended for that task. I’ll have to check out these new single-lens reflex cameras….

as a packaging engineer with strong ties to the quality aspect of manufacturing, i’m surprisingly interested in this piece. i’d love to see the mix of hand and robotic assembly, as well as quality control practices.

    thanks!
