Tapco 30 round Mini-14 magazines are the worst magazines I have ever used. You cannot even insert the mags into the rifle without the rounds popping out. If you look at them wrong the rounds pop out! These mags really suck!

I haven’t tried them yet, but I’m going to, despite his negative, fair review.

Tapco has gone out of its way to solve my extraction problem on my rifle. They sent me another magazine. I fired thirty rounds through it. I had one fail to eject (stove pipe) on the 22nd round. I don’t know what caused this, it could be several things but I don’t believe the problem lies with the magazine. I want to thank Tapco for all the assistance they have given me in this matter and I will continue to buy Tapco products in the future.

I purchased five of the new Tapco mini -14 30rd mags. I sent them back. I have a Ruger mini-14 with a 182 serial number. The magazines do not feed well in my rifle. I was having stove pipes about every third or fourth round. Dry fire I found that the rounds would have a hard time extracting. Switched back to the factory magazine and had no problem.

I have purchased and used the Tapco AK-47 magazines and found them to be very good magazines. I was suprised that the Tapco mini-14 magazines did not live up to my expectations. I do have an older model Ruger Mini-14 with a 182 series serial number. I don’t know if that has anything to do with the problem I had with the magazines or not.

I’m very hopeful. I used only Tapcos in my SKS and they work perfectly. I would love some quality inexpensive Mini-14 mags. Cross your fingers.

I’ve tried non-Ruger mags before for the Mini-14 and they don’t work!!! Maybe these will be different. As long as you could get your full money back if they don’t work, there is nothing to lose.

Ive been waiting for someone to make a good mini 14 mag for quite some time. Paying over 30 dollars most places for a 30 round ruger mag is absolutely infuriating given that you can get Pmags all day at $15 a pop. I have a few Tapco AK mags and they work fine. The price point is spot on. My hopes are high.

Hope they work. They are just a bit cheaper than factory mags and will probably last longer because of the polymer construction.

I know a lot of people look down their noses at Tapco, but for all their less than aesthetically pleasing stock design I’ve never had trouble with their SKS or AK magazines. Mini-14 mags you don’t have to hand-fit are hard to come by if they’re not $20+ Ruger factory mags, so I’ll give Tapco some leeway here.

That said though, this magazine looks like it’s made out of Legos.
