Wheelgun Wednesday: Taurus Raging Hunter Now In .350 Legend
Welcome back to Wheelgun Wednesday, our weekly article series that covers everything about revolvers. Today’s edition is a news article: Taurus has expanded its Raging Hunter revolver series with a version chambered in .350 Legend. The addition brings a straight-walled option to the lineup, aimed at shooters who want a revolver capable of handling hunting or field use within the performance limits of the caliber.
The new models are offered with either a 10.5-inch or 14-inch barrel and are available in black or two-tone finishes. The revolvers retain the Raging Hunter family’s dual-lockup cylinder, ported barrel system, and barrel shroud design, features that are said to help manage recoil and maintain controllability during extended use. The overall configuration allows shooters to mount optics or other accessories depending on individual requirements.
Chambering the platform in .350 Legend gives the Raging Hunter a straight-wall option that is legal for hunters in jurisdictions that require such cartridges. Taurus states that the caliber offers usable energy and trajectory for medium-game applications when fired from the longer barrels.
“Adding .350 Legend to the Raging Hunter lineup was a natural step. It gives shooters a modern, straight-walled option with the stout terminal performance they trust the series for,” said Michael Marotte, Marketing Director at Taurus. “We kept everything that made Raging Hunter legendary - strength, reliability, and practical field features - and tuned the platform for the demands of .350 Legend loads.”
Key features:
- Caliber: .350 Legend — modern straight-walled performance
- Barrel lengths: 10.5" and 14" — two choices to match range preferences and sight radius needs
- Finishes: Black and Two-Toned
- Capacity: 6 rounds
- Action: Double Action / Single Action (DA/SA) with transfer-bar safety
- Cylinder: Non-fluted cylinder to increase mass and help reduce felt recoil
- Recoil control: Muzzle brake included to reduce muzzle rise and aid faster follow-ups
- Sights: Fiber-optic front and rear sights for rapid target acquisition
- Accessory readiness: Top and bottom Picatinny rails for optics, lights, and other accessories
- Ergonomics: Cushioned grip for improved control with stout loads
- Security: Taurus Double Lock system to keep the cylinder secure when firing heavy magnum-class loads
With the .350 Legend now part of the catalog, the Raging Hunter series gains another configuration aimed at users who prefer revolvers for hunting or field carry, while keeping the core design consistent with the rest of the line. Looks like an excellent prop for a gimp-suited wasteland warlord, and that's about it.
Taurus has a reputation for delivering less than expected with their firearms. On the plus side, Taurus pistols and revolvers are a step above Jennings and Hi-Point.
