Photo Of The Day – The DMR rifles are increasing in popularity. The term stands for Designated Marksman Rifle and generally speaking, it’s a modern precision rifle in semi-automatic configuration, with a fancy riflescope on top. It fills the need between an ordinary rifle and a dedicated sniper rifle, to accurately hit targets in the region between 300-600 meters, and sometimes longer. Steyr Arms GmbH (Germany) has a new DMR 762. I understand that the upper is monoblock, making it more accurate.

Steyr Arms is probably the most well-known for creating the AUG, one of the most ubiquitous bullpup 5.56 rifles on the planet. However, at EnforceTac 2023, Steyr has announced they will be releasing a brand new rifle to market – the Steyr DMR. The new lightweight rifle will come in at just under 7 pounds in weight and will be available in a variety of full-size rifle cartridges including the new 277 FURY, as well as the classic .308 Winchester cartridge.

In this episode of TFBTV Show Time, James Reeves is at EnforceTac in Germany to speak with Steyr about the new Steyr DMR. The Steyr DMR is, obviously, a designated marksman rifle with incredible statistics: It weighs less than 7 pounds, can be chambered in .308, 6.5 Creedmoor, or .277 FURY/6.8x51mm AND it will shoot sub MOA, according to Steyr.
