In this article, I am starting the year off right with a commentary article. Today we are covering the Savage 1907, America’s first mass-production double-stack handgun, its field strip, and common issues. Let’s dive into the very retro Art Deco double stack!

The Savage 1907 handguns sold well, shot great, and look interesting. In their day they were quite popular and offered shooters the ability to quickly shoot off 10 rounds before having to reload, which was quite impressive for a pocket pistol. In this installment of TFBTV, we do some shooting with the little Savage.

The Savage 1907 is a beautiful early semi-automatic handgun that really made some waves when it was introduced, as the capacity and shootability made it a great offering to consumers looking for personal protection, and it even served France during World War I. Savage was a relatively new company when the pistol was introduced, but with this pistol and a line of other impressive offerings, the company soon became a household name. In this video we take apart the old 1907.
