New Polymer Field Pistol Sight Tool from Fix It Sticks
Fix It Sticks has a bunch of handy little toolkits that are compact, and quite useful in the range of everything from regular field stripping to mounting and removing optics. Fix It Sticks has just announced one of its newest dedicated tools – the Field Pistol Sight Tool for adjusting rear polymer sights on handguns. Normally this is a job for a punch and hammer or perhaps even another larger sight adjustment tool. This iron-sight-specific tool is compact enough to fit in any range bag and eliminates the guesswork of adjusting pistol sights with clear markings.

SIG SAUER Auctioning Numbers-Matching M17 and M18 for Charity
SIG SAUER‘s M17 and M18 pistols have served as America’s official service sidearms for six years, having been officially adopted as the winner of the US Army’s XM17 Modular Handgun System competition in 2017. The respective full-size and shorter carry-length models replaced the Beretta M9, which had been in service since 1985 after replacing the venerable 1911. Military units have been gradually phasing in the M17 and M18 over the last few years, with the company celebrating their 100,000th handgun delivery to the DoD in 2019. Now a special matched pair of these handguns are being auctioned for charity, benefiting the military-supporting Sterling Promise Foundation. This organization honors Staff Sergeant Scott Sterling, who succumbed to cancer in April 2021 after an illustrious US Army Special Operations career. The press release below provides further details.
The Curious Case of the Colt All American 2000 – Part 1: History
Looking to add some variety to your gun collection? Well, look no further than the Colt All American 2000 – the gun that’s more American than apple pie and bald eagles combined! Okay, maybe not quite, but this quirky little pistol is definitely worth taking a closer look at. From its unconventional design to its reputation as one of the biggest commercial flops in firearm history, the Colt All American 2000 is an interesting piece from a time when the idea of carrying a polymer-framed handgun was just starting to get a foot in the door. At first glance, the All American 2000 might seem like just another polymer-framed 9mm, but it’s the unique features and story behind the gun’s development and release that really set it apart. For “The Curious Case of the Colt All American 2000 Part 1”, we’ll be taking a look at its history before we dive into a field review after I’ve had some more time to really test the handgun at the range.
New 9mm TAC 4.25″/5″ and TAC PRO 4.25″ 1911s from Bul Armory
While Israeli-based Bul Armory manufactures a number of other guns, what many shooters probably associate them most closely with is their lineup of 1911s. The company’s current catalogue features nearly two dozen models based on John Moses Browning’s venerable design. The Bul crew has largely set out to modernize this classic, particularly when it comes to their competition-centric race guns. They’ve come out with 1911s chambered for rounds other than the OG’s .45 ACP, as well – including .38 Super, .40 S&W, and 9mm. This last caliber is now getting three new SAS II-series versions. Meet the TAC PRO 4.25″ and the TAC 4.25″ and 5″ handguns, coming to the US market this year. Get the specs in the two respective press releases copied below.
Bul Armory Introduces 2023 Axe Hatchet Handgun Models
Bul Armory has been producing small arms for about a third of a century, since the Israeli operation’s founding in 1990. In the US, they’ve come to be probably most commonly known for their 1911s, notably their competition-purposed race guns. However, they also produce handguns intended for duty use and EDC/concealed carry. Over the last year or so, there have been rumblings about some new and improved polymer-framed models coming to the US, as James and Luke C. reported on at last year’s IWA trade show. More updates emerged earlier this month from IWA 2023, and now Bul has announced that their new 2023 Axe Hatchet handgun models, generally comparable to the Glock 17 and 19 but with some apparent aftermarket customization-inspired features, should be available later this year. Check out the details in the press release copied below.

TFB Review: The Single-Action Smith & Wesson Equalizer
The past few years saw an insane number of first-time gun owners. If any of you are reading this, welcome to our community! One of the more popular handguns for n00bs was the Smith & Wesson Shield EZ. It was originally only available in .380 ACP, then 9x19mm. S&W has pushed another evolution of the pistol. Though not an exact sequel, the Equalizer is the Split to the EZ’s Unbreakable, and today it’s the topic of our review.

The Taurus TX22 has been one of the most successful 22LR pistol releases in the last couple of years. Since its release, the TX22 platform has seen the standard model, and competition model, and now is adding to the lineup with the all-new TaurusTX 22 Compact. The new compact 22LR pistol comes with 13 rounds of standard capacity, an optic-ready slide, and a suppressor-ready barrel which should give it a wide range of uses for rimfire enthusiasts.
