The FK Brno family of handguns is now a little bigger with the introduction of two new models at SHOT Show 2023 – the PSD-C and PSD-SL.

The FK Brno shook the firearms world with the release of their new pistols chambered in 7.5mm FK – the latest and greatest in “hand cannon” ammunition. FK Brno came out to IWA 2022 to exhibit their latest version of the PSD with the all-new FK Brno PSD Compact (PSD-C).

Raven Concealment Systems has been cranking out holsters, magazine carriers, and related products for over a decade. Some of their noted prior offerings include items like Eidolon holsters and the Vanguard series, or their Copia mag pouches. Now they’ve released a new mag carrier, originally designed for low-profile usage to conceal AR/M4 mags under plain clothes. The main use case for the style of Raven’s new Lictor AR Magazine Pouch would be in the context of a personal security detail or armed bodyguard situation, which is where the Latin-origin name “Lictor” comes from. Truth be told, I am a bit of a hand cannon junkie.  I love going out to shoot my .44 Magnum wheelguns, and always appreciate a range session with a friend’s .454, .460, .480, .500 and so on.  While all these pistols are a hoot to shoot, they take a certain amount of finesse to properly control and get rounds accurately on target, especially with repeatable hits.

I challenge you to watch the above video, and tell me the majority of the tactics, gear, people, and location couldn’t have been easily mistaken for a large training center in the United States, such as Gunsite, Blackwater. The Erbil Training Center (ETC) claims to be the largest training facility within Iraq, and autonomous Kurdistan (northern Iraq). ETC boosts numerous short and long distance ranges, a CQB maneuver house, rappel tower, in addition to a wide variety of other establishments and shooting facilities. The Center appears to be much more specialized within the PSD and special operations capacity training than strict infantry material, or what the majority of the Peshmerga is engaged in when it comes to fighting Daesh. Indeed, with previous videos of Kurdish “SF” groups, I can recognize some of the background at this facility.
