In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves visits FK Brno at IWA to discuss their newest ammunition. While it’s not quite out yet, FK Brno has successfully developed prototype 7.5mm FK rounds that will defeat Level IV rifle-rated body armor … out of a handgun. This new AP ammo works in the full-size FK Brno Field Pistol and FK Brno PSD pistol and could be released this year.

Truth be told, I am a bit of a hand cannon junkie.  I love going out to shoot my .44 Magnum wheelguns, and always appreciate a range session with a friend’s .454, .460, .480, .500 and so on.  While all these pistols are a hoot to shoot, they take a certain amount of finesse to properly control and get rounds accurately on target, especially with repeatable hits.

In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves puts the new FK BRNO PSD through the paces with a 1,000 round mini-torture test using every weight of 7.5mm FK (at $1.50 a round) plus some 10mm rounds for good measure. The FK BRNO PSD is, essentially, a polymer-framed variant of the FK BRNO Field Pistol – a Czech-made, oversized CZ-75 that shoots the 7.5mm FK round. The 7.5FK pushes a 100gr bullet (think .380 ACP size round) at 2,000 feet per second (twice as fast as most .45ACP). This means it generates .44 Magnum levels of power in a package that’s ALMOST concealable (if you’re brave enough, that is). How’d it do in this mini-torture test?
