Photo Of The Day – We take a look at the Enhanced KRISS Vector SDP. I had the opportunity to shoot it at the SHOT Show range day, but I have to admit that my memory is a bit faint since there was so much else going on at the same time in combination with a serious jet lag. Have you shot the Kriss Vector? Remington amidst rumblings of uncertainty continues to roll out more 1911 models with strong influences from their absorbed Para Ordnance brand. The next on the docket: an Ultra Light Executive, Enhanced Double Stack and Recon Commander Double Stack.

The Thales EF88 assault rifle has seen its first operational deployment, and the reception is reportedly very warm. According to an article in Defence Connect, the rifles were deployed with Task Group Taji 5 (5th rotation), a battalion of Australian Defence Force advisers for Iraqi forces deployed as part of Operation Okra. The article reads:

Hartford gunmaker Colt’s Manufacturing has introduced a new carbine model at the 2017 Bahrain International Defence Exhibition & Conference (BIDEC). The weapon, called the M5 Enhanced Carbine, is an AR-15-style rifle fitted with Geissele Super Modular Rail handguards sporting low profile screw mounting points, an ambidextrous lower receiver, and a short-stroke gas piston and operating rod gas system. The website Army Recognition has posted an article on the new carbine, as well as what appears to be a segment of a press release from Colt:

The defense magazine European Security & Defence has published an article detailing for the first time Glock’s Modular Handgun System submission and its Federal-engineered ammunition. The article – part technical overview, part interview, details the recent history of Glock’s MHS submission, the technical characteristics of their Glock 19 MHS and 23 MHS pistols, and the current feeling among Glock executives about their second place finish in the competition. But, since I don’t want to bury the lede any more than I have, here’s what Glock’s head of International Sales, Richard Flür, had to say on the Glock MHS’s future beyond the US Army:

One of the drawbacks of owning a non-mainstream firearm is the lack or scarcity of aftermarket parts.  CZ 805 Bren is an example of such a firearm. The good news is that Manticore Arms has joined the short list of companies who make parts for these rifles and came up with a couple of enhanced parts.
