New DryFireMag Models Coming in 2022 – Glock, S&W, AR-15, and More!

Some of you may have heard of the DryFireMag or the Trigger Reset Magazine. This cool little aftermarket training aid product is quite unique when compared to things like snap caps or laser training devices. One of the biggest problems people run into when they are doing dry-fire practice is that when using a single action only or striker-fired handgun, the slide needs to be re-racked every time for the next shot. Not so with the DryFireMag. The DryFireMag automatically resets your trigger for you so that you can continue to practice your dry fire uninterrupted! Recently, at GAOS 2022, the company announced that they would be coming out with new DryFireMag models to encompass more handguns and even AR-15 rifles.

Dry Fire in the 21st Century – Laser Training Cartridges

What with ammo prices the way they are, a topic that I’m sure is on everyone’s mind is how do you practice shooting without having to spend say, 50 cents per round for every round of 9mm that leaves your barrel? The standard answer has always been “dry fire”. Dry firing is great advice, but it doesn’t provide the level of feedback necessary to remain proficient. Nothing can replace actually shooting your guns, but you want to close that gap as far as possible, right? Enter the laser training cartridge. This nifty little gadget helps to fill some (but not all) of the gap between dry fire training and practical shooting.

Three years ago, Pete wrote about the  Practisim VR shooting simulator. Well, it has popped up again in the hands of probably the best dryfire practitioner on the planet, Liku_Tactical. Concealed Carry Corner: Ways to Practice Shooting From Home

There is no denying, the last few weeks have been a little odd around the world. Normal daily practices like going out to dinner or hitting the range on a free day, have completely stopped. The number one complaint with shooters in my area is the lack of open ranges. Here in Michigan, most of the public ranges and indoor ranges have been shut down for public safety, so it really is difficult to find an accessible place to shoot if you don’t have private land.

The Rimfire Report: Don't Dry Fire Your Rimfire! Truth or Myth?

Welcome back to another edition of  The Rimfire Report. In this ongoing series, we discuss everything and anything related to rimfire firearms! This week I’d like to address a bit of “fudd lore”. We’ve probably all heard it at one point or another either from our dads, uncles or perhaps even from the guy across the counter of the gun store to “Never dry fire a Rimfire!” Today we’ll explore where this idea comes from and determine whether it’s sound advice or just outdated fudd lore.

The Glock E-Trainer For Dry Fire Practice

If you’re not doing dry fire training you really should give it a try, it’s a great way to help you become a much better shooter without having to go to the range. I try to get in some dry fire trigger time almost daily. The only downside of dry fire training is having to constantly re-rack your slide after every trigger pull in order to reset the trigger. It interrupts your flow and becomes tedious after a while. Well the folks over at glocketrainer.com have come up with a simple yet clever solution.
