This looks like a lot of fun. I have seen videos of matches at Knob Creek and it seemed like a waste to use a machine gun. Shooting a semi auto would actually be more accurate and faster than using a machine gun. However some of the stage design in this video lend themselves to using machine guns as an advantage. Especially stage 2 where you need quite a few rounds on target to get the spinner to spin up and over. As well as the sled that you have to push with rounds on steel. That would take a lot longer with a semi auto.

The U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit (AMU) sent their Action Shooting Team to train the British Army Combat Action Shooting Team. Here is a video of the BACST showing off what they learned in a 3Gun style action stage. They are using the SA80 and what looks like a Glock 17. The British soldier is in Multi-Terrain Pattern (MTP) which is a hybrid of the British Disruptive Pattern Material (DPM) and Multicam.

Ian and Karl have put another rifle through its paces over at InRange TV; this time a Masterpiece Arms MPAR-556. The MPAR-556 is based on the Leader T2 rifle, an Australian design by British designer Charles St. George. Like the Leader, it uses a large amount of stampings, as well as an AR-18-derived bolt carrier and gas system, with St. George’s patented triangular bolt head. First, Ian, Karl, and several other competitors ran the MPAR-556 through their local 2-gun course (differing from 3-gun in that it excludes shotguns).
