Real Avid produces a wide range of firearm maintenance and cleaning equipment. This year their new releases for SHOT Show are kits of drivers optimized for shooting use. And some even have torque control built in!

SHOT 2025 @ TFB:

First up, we have three sets of bits and drivers. These sets range in size from 13 to 57 pieces. All include small bits, and some include sockets. Real Avid packages all of these kits in cases, some made of hard plastic and some softer with zip closures. Some of the hard cases even have extra storage slots for additional bits. MSRP for these kits ranges from $29 to $49.

There are also two types of torque-limiting devices available in some sets. The first is a series of dedicated torque limiters, with each attachment setting the torque spec at common levels. It requires no adjustment, just grab the fitting that matches the torque spec for the project and turn until it clicks. MSRP for this kit is $149, and additional torque limiters will be available for purchase.

The other torque limiting option is an adjustable unit. It dials up to the required torque spec with clicking stops at each inch-pound. This is much more precise than twisting a torque wrench until the indicator looks like it is about where you need it. MSRP for this kit is $99. These kits are all expected in Q2 of this year.

From the manufacturer:

Based on a conventional ratchet driver, the X3 Driver™ takes a turn from the ordinary with its 72-position ratchet mechanism designed to deliver maximum leverage and exact bit positioning. The X3 Driver™ features a knurled bit rotation wheel at the back of the driver, allowing easy, one-finger alignment of the bit for working in tight areas. The X3 also includes a modular T-handle that can be installed perpendicular in the driver handle when quick adjustments and “by feel” torque are required. Included in the X3 Driver™ system is a straight-shank bit driver that accepts quarter-inch bits and is ideally suited for traditional screwdriver tasks. The heft of the ratchet and driver handles combine with high-traction knurling to give the user confidence, control, and a sure grip for both light and high-torque applications.
