Palmetto State Armory’s booth at SHOT Show is always a busy place, thanks in part to the volume of new and interesting guns they have on display each year. 2026 was no exception to that trend. Let’s go through some of the new things in the booth this year.

SHOT 2026 @ TFB:

New Items

AXR System

The PSA AXR Sabre series is a family of modular firearms. They are not all modular with one another. The AXR SSP (Short Stroke Piston) is a modular firearm that uses the E4 bolt system. The upper receiver is fully modular, with interchangeable handguards and a full-length bolt-on rail. This is a development from the Jakl and refines many of the issues that people have raised in the past with that gun.

The AXR Shotgun is not the 570 we saw last year - It uses AR safeties and grips. A full-length top picatinny rail allows accessory mounting, and the barrel is threaded for a new AAC silencer.

The AXR handgun family uses a MFCand is compatible with the RXM series. There is also an AXR S model that accepts P320 magazine. The AXR micro is a modular platform as well, but it is not compatible with the RXM series because it is based on the slimline Glock platform.

The AXR pistols also have a chassis system. This will be huge for RXM owners as well, who could use their trigger pack in this setup without needing another background check for a gun purchase.

 Sabre Key Underbarrel Shotgun

The 570 shotgun project was teased last year, and there is a new underslung model on the horizon. Recent changes to the NFA and free tax stamps make this a more attractive option than in the past. It mounts like an M203 grenade launcher, using a barrel clamp around the cutout in an M4-style barrel. There is a small hook in front of the pump to keep your hand from slipping in front of the barrel.

Sabre-25

The large-frame Sabre series is expanding to include the clone-correct silencer style for the SR25 series. The Sabre-25 takes the Sabre-10 and adds the correct gas block and muzzle device to accept Gate Lock silencers. Griffin Armament’s silencer was displayed on the booth gun. This gun as a CHF barrel for longevity.

DPMS Varminter

DPMS also teased a throwback to the old varminter-style AR-15 builds of the 1990s. It has a knurled aluminum tube handguard and a heavy contour barrel. A bipod mounting stud is included at the front of the handguard.

Items From Prior Years

6mm ARC

The Sabre 6mm ARC project is still coming! It has an E4 bolt for increased durability and uses the Magpul ICAR magazine system. It is in the final stages of testing now and should be available in short order. PSA also displayed their Sabre silencer on this gun.

Lancet .50 BMG

This was first shown last year, and it has been refined from that initial prototype. The upper receiver is redesigned to a more squared-off design. It will still be a while before this one becomes available, but this version looks far more put-together than last year’s Lancet.

X5.7

The X5.7 is still coming! It has an aluminum upper and a collapsible arm brace. It is undergoing endurance testing now and should have a launch date announcement in the near future.

I'm beginning to lose track of what brands PSA makes , as well as models of PSA firearms.

However, they are a serious firearms manufacturer these days.

By far the biggest splash PSA made this year was announcing they were chickening out of the X9 in favor of flux raider pistol chassis they're trying to call AXR even though it's a flux raider chassis. Nearly every comments section is flooded with people asking for blood and the return of the X9. They really missed the mark on that decision.

They recently made a video saying due to the tremendous outpouring of love for the x9 they are reviving it.
