New Colt Pythons are officially out in the wild as Colt has created 3 new offerings by adding in Hogue grips along with a bead blast stainless finish. The common barrel lengths of 3″, 4.25″, and 6″ are still available in these new Python offerings with a more comfortable choice of a rubber grip as opposed to their walnut grips.

Colt @ TFB:

The MSRP for all of the new Colt Python models is set at $1,299. This is $200 less than their original counterparts that sported a high-polish stainless (compared to the new bead blast stainless finish) and walnut cut checkered grips (now traded out for Hogue rubber grips). The three new offerings are listed below:

  • Colt Python 6″ Bead Blast Stainless .357 Magnum Adjustable Sights Hogue Grips

    SKU: PYTHON-SM6RTS | UPC: 098289003492

  • Colt Python 4.25″ Bead Blast Stainless .357 Magnum Adjustable Sights Hogue Grips

    SKU: PYTHON-SM4RTS | UPC: 098289003515

  • Colt Python 3″ Bead Blast Stainless .357 Magnum Adjustable Sights Hogue Grips

    SKU: PYTHON-SM3RTS | UPC: 098289003522

Colt Python 4.25 Bead Blast Stainless .357 Magnum Adjustable Sights Hogue Grips - MSRP $1,299

Following the extraordinary success of the Python reintroduction, we are excited to announce a new Python Series with a stainless bead blast finish and Hogue grips. This series will include all the standard barrel lengths.

While I would not categorize these new Colt Pythons as “cheap,” these newer offerings sporting Hogue rubber grips are more affordable than their predecessors. If by cheapening the price-point by $200 and making it “less pretty” so more people are willing to go out to the range to shoot and play with them, then I am all for it. The more double-action revolver choices we have the better. As always, let us know all of your thoughts about these Colt Pythons in the Comments below! We always appreciate your feedback.

Can they please bring back the old Anaconda in .45 Long Colt?

    I bought a new python.

    Out of the box:

Trigger when pulled does not return. You have to lift the hammer to get it to return.

SA Trigger pull is 7lbs and very gritty. DA trigger pull is >10lbs. That's as high as my scale goes.

Cases do not eject, must be hand pulled (brass cases).

Gun shoots high with rear sight all the way down.

I bought a taller front sight.

Gun is at my favorite gunsmith now.
