There are times when I need to leave my vehicle in some less-than-ideal locations. I don’t leave my gun in my car, but I still feel uneasy about leaving documentation or other valuables in my car for too long. I drive an older car, so many of the built-in vehicle safes aren’t compatible. However, there’s another option. The Headrest Safe Company makes aftermarket headrests with built-in safes for keeping your valuables secure and hidden. They were previously only available for the passenger side, but they can now be had for the driver’s side seat.

Drivers Side Safe Released by the Headrest Safe Company
The internal safe is made from 18-gauge steel. The seamless 16-gauge steel door is opened in one of three ways. The first is with the biometric fingerprint reader. The second method is by using the keypad. Users can program the code to be from four to eight digits long. The last way to open the safe is with a key, for those of you who don’t lose everything right away like I do. They’re available in a variety of colors and can be cloth or leatherette.
