FN's FCU Mk3 Fire Control Unit for European Special Forces
An unnamed special forces unit from a European country has chosen the FN FCU Mk3 Fire Control Unit for their 40 mm multi-shot grenade launchers. The FCU Mk3 makes target engagement fast and very accurate, day or night and increases the hit probability of the 40mm grenade system. It is powered by a single CR123 battery, and the system can reach out to 1000 meters. A few years ago the control unit was chosen by Germany for their Infantryman of the Future.

Pairing a FCU + Milkor + 40x51mm Medium Velocity Airburst allows the creating of an off the shelf, more powerful XM25. This would allow the airbursting grenades to take out enemies hiding behind cover out to 400m, and suppress area targets out to 800m, with a man portable system.
Hopefully that's whats being done.
Not so much the smart sight - which is good - it's the current trend to bloated styling I see trending. Add the sight and it's an ugly mess.
Ugly guns are not trusted by their users.
