STI International HAWK 5.0 Pistol

STI International has introduced a new 2011 pistol called HAWK 5.0. The 2011-series of pistols are basically 1911 pistols with a modular glass reinforced polymer made frame featuring wider magazine well to accommodate double stack magazines.

The HAWK 5.0 is chambered in 9x19mm. It is a standard 1911 length pistol (with 5″ barrel) and features a full-length.dust cover. The pistol has a barrel bushing and one piece recoil spring guide rod. All the metal parts of the gun have a matte blued finish. Perhaps the most distinctive feature of this pistol are the wide and deep serrations on rear and front portions of the slide which the STI International calls “Nitro Serrations”. To me, the serrations are what make it look incredibly beautiful. It is a very elegant design combining the 100-year old core pistol with a just right amount and non-overdone modern features.

The company designates the magazines by the length which is 126mm for this particular gun. By looking at the STI magazine capacity chart, you can see that the mentioned magazine length means the 18-round capacity for the 9mm caliber.

The trigger pull weight of HAWK 5.0 pistol is 4.5 lbs. Its thumb safety lever is not ambidextrous. The pistol comes with a fixed rear sight and fiber optic front sight.

The STI International HAWK 5.0 pistol is listed on the manufacturer’s website at an MSRP of $1,599.

Another STI fancy and pricey 2011 that does not work out of the box!
You need to tune the expensive mags because mags also does not work out of the box and only comes with one, you need to shoot thousands of ammo to make work and will never be reliable, will need hundreds of dollars in new parts that the factory will not cover under warranty and a guide rod system that its a PITA to take apart...what not to love? But it’s a STI...

Don't know the name never shot one to me it's just another knock off 1911 and not a particularly good looking one at that, I already have a couple of double stack 9mm 1911 style handguns what's so great about this one?
