Schmeisser GmbH (Ltd.) out of Krefeld, Germany, announced a Birthday Edition of the Schmeisser 1911.

The Schmeisser 1911 Hugo is a classic single-stack 1911 pistol, with all normal features you can expect.

The Schmeisser 1911 is available in either .45 ACP or 9×19 mm, and it can be ordered with adjustable or fixed sights.

Apparently it was for Hugo Schmeisser’s 133:rd Birthday. You could argue that that is a rather weak reason to do a limited edition, but I have seen worse.

Hugo Schmeisser birthday edition!
Today Hugo Schmeisser would have turned 133 years.

For this reason we make a limited edition of our 1911 Hugo.

Front and rear checkering of the steel frame

High grip extended beavertail

Extended ambidextrous safety

Stainless match grade barrel perfectly fitted into a solid match bushing

Pre-adjusted match trigger with trigger stop

Commander hammer

Front slide serrations

Lowered ejection port

Real carbon grip panels with matching screws

Picatinny rail on the frame allows easy use of additional mounts and light devices

The 1911 Hugo is Made in Germany. This goes for their AR15s as well.

Gunsweek.com has a YouTube video with some more information about the Hugo 1911 (non limited edition).

I have not been able to find a price, but the link to Schmeisser’s 1911 Hugo website is here: http://schmeisser-germany.com/products/pistol-1911-hugo/

Give me a 1911 Hugo in RAL8000, adjustable sights and in .45 ACP and I’ll be smiling.

I am always wondering how they can write MADE IN GERMANY or MADE IN USA on 1911s and ARs that are obviously manufactured in Asia??
