[TFB GUNFEST] CANiK Signature Series For TP9 SFx Pistols

    Canik Signature Series TP9

Canik USA recently ran several different collector’s variants of their TP9 SFx pistols, which proved quite popular with loyal fans, and eventually garnered some steep private sale prices. Due to the limited run of those pistols, Canik USA decided to appeal to those that missed out by releasing several more runs of the TP9 SFx pistols under their new Canik Signature Series. There are two upgrades that set the Signature Series apart from a stock Canik, as well as the standard Sfx line; the most noticeable of which is a sharp two-tone, contrasting finish, while the second upgrade is an added flared magazine well base for assisting in quicker reloads. The third benefit that the Signature Series gains from the SFx line is that it’s optics ready and ships with a nearly seamless rear sight plate installed.

Canik brought two examples of their TP9 Sfx’s to TFB’s GunFest 2021 event to announce the roll-out of the Canik Signature Series. The sample that immediately stood out to me was the “White Out” edition, which looks like it would fit right in on a Star Wars Storm Trooper’s gun belt. The White Out TP9’s bright white finish and black filled roll marks and controls looked pretty slick. The next full-sized Canik TP9 SFx was all black, and featured red highlights and controls. The White Out will be a limited run of 7500 pistols, while the black and red edition will be a run of 2500. Each pistol in the Canik Signature Series will have a numbered engraving on the slide’s front bezel.

Both full-sized Signature Series pistols feature a 5.1-inch barrel and will come with two 20 round Mec-Gar magazines, as well as the factory installed magazine well base. At present, the flared magazine well will only be compatible with the Signature Series TP9 SFx, however, Canik USA explained that in the near future, stock TP9’s will be receiving a frame change to be able to accept the new magazine well bases. The striker-fired trigger feels on par with a Gen 5 Glock, if not better, and incorporates an armed trigger indicator.

Exact pricing on the Canik Signature Series hasn’t been fully established. However, the representative from Canik USA said that the Signature Series would only be slightly elevated in price compared to a stock TP9 SFx. The Canik Signature Series will be available in the 2nd Quarter of 2021.
