POTD: Iron Works – So You Like the Skorpion vz. 61?

Elliott Erwitt, a French-born American photographer, once said that The whole point of taking pictures is so that you don’t have to explain things with words.While we understand what he means, it’s not that easy. Here at TFB we like to add a story and a background – a so-called context. In our Photo Of The Day, we’re looking at dozens of brand new Škorpion vz. 61 SMGs. It’s pretty amazing to find boxes full of these legends and we thank Iron Works from Czechoslovakia for sharing these images.

Vz 61 Rimfire .22 Variant Arrives in Canada

A particularly unusual variant of the Vz61 Machine pistol has arrived in the Great White North. A newly manufactured (no milsurp parts) short barreled rifle from Czech Small Arms (CSA) chambered in the universally popular .22 rimfire has seen a limited release across the country.
