We all know Vortex Optics for having a wide breadth of glass for us to choose from regardless of our use case. This includes micro red dots which Vortex has been revamping in recent years with the unveiling of their Defender series. Now, Vortex Optics has announced the next optic in the continuation of their Defender series of micro red dots with the unveiling of the Defender-XL.

Vortex has officially announced its entrance into the sporting eyewear world. As an optics company, this really shouldn’t come as a surprise as every optic company out there has its own specific take on one of the most important pieces of safety equipment. The new Vortex Eyewear lineup starts with two different variants including the Banshee, and Jackal models. Of course, these lenses will be ANSI Z87.1 certified, and will also feature anti-reflective and UV protective properties. As with anything and everything Vortex, these are going to be affordable, and also come with Vortex’s popular “no questions asked VIP Warranty.”

Back in December of 2023, I was invited out to the Vortex Optics campus to get an early look at some of their products coming out for this year. While we were there, our group had the opportunity to get a look at the entire Vortex Optics operation including their customer service department, warehouse, manufacturing facility, and of course their very own training facility, Vortex Edge. Vortex Edge is open to the public and staffed by Vortex’s own team of dedicated instructors who have a wealth of experience in both law enforcement and military firearms training, as well as high-level competitive pistol and rifle shooting. No matter what level of shooting you’re at, or what your goals are, the Vortex Edge team can probably help you with your training, even if it includes using night vision. Today we’ve brought on Chris and Sawyer from Vortex to tell us all about the Vortex Edge facility and training offerings, as well as some of their company history and some hints at new products coming in 2024.

It’s a whole new year and optics manufacturers are ushering in new glass! Some of the newest offerings are the Vortex Venom 3-15x44mm FFP (First Focal Plane) and Vortex Venom 1-6x24mm SFP (Second Focal Plane). This expands out the Venom family of optics to 3 selections now bridging the gap from Low Powered Variable Optics (LPVO) all the way up to high magnification options in the original 5-25x option.

Today is a good day if you love your glass and optics because Vortex Optics has 3 new products that they are ready to announce. The first is a lighter and leaner spotting scope in the Razor HD 13-39x56mm. Up next, are 2 new binocular harness systems in the GlassPak Sport and GlassPak Pro. In the past five years, there has been an absolute boom in new micro-compact pistols. What followed was optics-ready models of those micro-compact pistols.
