Welcome to TFB Podcast Roundup 19: Last week we celebrated those who have served our country with Veterans Day (formerly known as Armistice Day in the United States). In honor of that federal holiday, I’ve brought you a bunch of podcasts featuring those who have served our country including Travis Haley, Eric from IV8888, Jacko Willink, and even one of our very own in-house veterans. In these episodes, their respective hosts talk about tactics, drama within the military and veteran community, and also talk a little bit about their experiences and offer advice to everyone from their experience within the military. Earlier this week, Brownells began a promotion to support the Special Operations Wounded Warriors (SOWW) foundation by promising to give 4% of their overall sales through Sunday, November 14th. The funds donated by Brownells and used by the SOWW will go towards helping Purple Heart recipients of the Special Operations community for their service and sacrifice to our country on this special day on which we honor those that have served.

Veterans Day is right around the corner and there is no better time throughout the year for us to honor those who have been elected to or who were pressed into service for our nation. YETI, popular manufacture of outdoor gear and products has just announced that they will be supporting Folds of Honor with a Limited Edition Veterans Day Tumbler. The 30oz tumbler sales will raise money for the nonprofit which supports our men and women in the military with $5 from each sale being donated directly to Folds of Honor.

From the entire TFB Team, we wish to thank service men and women of all nations who have stepped up and answered the call to national defense, especially in times of war. We owe all of you an extreme level of gratitude and appreciation. Although we have Veterans Day in the United States, Commonwealth nations have Remembrance Day, both resulting from the end of hostilities at the closure of the First World War in 1918.

Personally, I consider a range trip one of the more therapeutic activities I can do on my own time. Something about the relationship between myself, the firearm, and the target, in that literally nothing else in the world matters and can come in between myself and making that round go where I want it to go. I’m physically untouched from my time overseas (apart from my ankles, my knees, my hearing loss, my shoulders, and my back) but a number of friends, and an even greater number of servicemen and women who are back home, can’t say the same thing. I can only imagine, if enjoying the shooting sports in a somewhat normative setting would do for someone, then being able to enjoy them in the worst of physical conditions would do for someone with burns, amputated limbs, or eyesight.

From the staff here at TFB we would like to take this time to honor our veterans current and past for their great sacrifice in preserving our country’s freedom. Whether our veterans served in the Army, Navy, Marine Corp, Air Force or Coast Guard we owe them a debt which we can never repay.
