Short & Sweet: Vang Comp TAC-14 Other Firearm
Vang Comp Systems, a noted customizer of scatterguns, has a new model that’s not a shotgun. The new TAC-14 Deluxe is an “other firearm” according to the ATF instead of a “shotgun” even though it fires 12-gauge shotgun shells. Let’s take a look at why that matters.
POTD: Sniper Grey Mossberg 590
Manufactured by O.F. Mossberg & Sons, the Mossberg 590 is a popular pump-action shotgun. It’s used by the military as well as in law enforcement applications, but it’s also popular for home defense and sporting purposes. I’m sure that more than a few of TFB’s readers have one close to their bed at night. In this Photo Of The Day, we’re taking a look at a custom version by Vang Comp Systems LLC – the Sniper Grey Mossberg 590.
Vang Comp Releases "Chair Cover" Discreet Shotgun Case
Vang Comp is renowned for its custom shotguns and the Vang Comp System, which provides reduced recoil and tighter patterns. Their latest product is a long gun transport case disguised to look like a folding chair cover. Now, you can keep that scattering close while looking like you’re headed to a campout.
Mossberg 590A1 Review: Still the Ultimate Tactical Pump Shotgun?
In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves gives you a long-overdue review of the Mossberg 590A1. The Mossberg 590A1 is known for its durability: this shotgun has been tested and proven in some of the toughest environments, including military trials. It can handle a wide range of ammunition types and conditions, and it has a smooth and reliable action that makes it easy to use even in stressful situations. The Mossberg 590A1 is versatile as well. Whether you need a home defense shotgun or a tactical shotgun for law enforcement use, the Mossberg 590A1 is good to go. However, with semi-auto shotguns like the Mossberg 940 Tactical and Beretta A300 Patrol approaching the same price point as this top-of-the-line pump, is the Mossberg 590A1 still worth your attention? Especially the Vang Comp “Standard” edition James reviews in this episode – at $1,000 MSRP, should you just get a semi-auto instead? James opines today on TFBTV.
NEW: Vang Comp Model 764 Mossberg 590A1 "The Standard"
As much as I like to poke James Reeves about the era of the shotgun being a thing of the past, he and everyone else continues to prove me wrong. Many of you may not be old enough to remember the days before the mass adoption of the AR-15 platform, but the shotgun was the long gun of choice for law enforcement and home defense for decades. The primary reason being that the 12 gauge shell in either 00 buck or slug, has devastating terminal ballistics within defensive scenario ranges. The Vang Comp Model 764 takes a standard Mossberg and adds proven features for short money.
Review: Vang Comp Remington 870
For those of you not familiar with Vang Comp, they modify tactical shotguns. Last year I had them modify my Magpul Edition Remington 870.
Review: Salvo 12 Revisited Different Shotguns And Different Ammo
Nathan S. did a great review of the Salvo 12. However there were a couple shotguns he did not test it on. I got my hands on a Salvo 12 and put it on a variety of different shotguns with varying loads.
