Ukrainian National Guard Special Forces Receiving AR-15s
The National Guard of Ukraine’s press office announced that the National Guard Special Forces have received their first 5.56x45mm AR-15-patterned rifles. The move comes as some Ukrainian National Guard units have begun to rearm in line with NATO standards as part of closer alignment with the western alliance.
Ukrainian Border Guard Tests Locally Made SMG-15 Submachine Guns
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has published a press release telling about the new, domestically-produced submachine gun called SMG-15 that they are currently testing and may adopt in the foreseeable future. The press release notes that the gun is made by a company called “UKROP” LLC (ТОВ «УКРОП») which according to some Ukrainian sources is related to another Ukrainian company, Zbroyar. The latter manufactures AR-15 and AR-10 pattern guns as well as bolt action rifles. Earlier, we reported about the adoption of Zbroyar Z-10 .308 Win / 7.62x51mm NATO rifle by the Ukrainian military under a model designation UR-10.
