TsKIB SOO MTs-566 Turns Up In Ukraine

On 15 March a report from Russia’s Federal News Agency featured an interesting semi-automatic sniper rifle that hasn’t regularly been seen in use during the conflict – the MTs-566. The report shows a sniper team from Wagner, Russia’s largest private military contractor, in position in Bakhmut. The date the piece was filmed is unclear but the rifle itself is rarely seen and the footage gives us a decent look at the rifle and even of it firing a couple of rounds.

Soviet Experimental 6mm Sniper Rifle (TKB-0145S)

Thanks to the Kalashnikov Gun Magazine, today we have a chance to take a look at one of the Soviet experimental sniper rifles/DMRs chambered in the 6x49mm caliber. New Russian OTs-128 Prototype Belt-Fed Machine Gun

About a year ago we reported about several new firearms that were designed or were in development by the Russian TsKIB SOO. Among these guns, there was a semi-auto marksman rifle called OTs-129. Apparently, that was one of the guns of a project called “Alatau” (Алатау). A couple of days ago, Kalashnikov Gun Magazine has published images of the OTs-128 machine gun that was also a part of the Alatau project.

Russia to Mass Produce the ADS Amphibious Rifle

According to RIA Novosti news agency, TsKIB SOO arms manufacturing plant officials announced that they are tooling up to start mass production of the ADS amphibious weapon system. They will supply the Russian Ministry of Defence and National Guard units as well as manufacture the rifle for export. The domestic orders are said to be the primary goal of the company. The countries of export are not disclosed.

Russia to Adopt the AGS-40 "BALKAN" Automatic Grenade Launcher in 2018

In an interview given to INTERFAX news agency, Vladimir Lepin, the CEO of Russian “Techmash” Concern, told about the current status of the 40mm AGS-40 “Balkan” automatic grenade launcher. Acording to Lepin, the AGS-40 is being extensively tested in their army since 2017. Right now they are making the final design changes, particularly to improve the night vision scope, disintegrating belt, loading machine and other minor elements of the system. They are planning to finish the testing and adopt the AGS-40 “Balkan” by the end of 2018.

7 New Firearms by Russian TsKIB SOO

At the end of May, there was an event held in Russia called “Day of Advanced Technologies of Law Enforcement Authorities”. It is officially described as a scientific and technical forum and normally the entry is restricted to law-enforcement officials. During this forum/fair, many Russian companies introduce some of their newest weapon designs as well as those still in development. Usually, it is hard to get information from that event, but some information and images leaked and appeared in Russian gun forums and other online resources.

Russia Develops a New .45 ACP Pistol (OTs-122)

Russian “ Nezavisimaya Gazeta” newspaper has recently released an interview with Alexey Sorokin, the director of Russian firearms manufacturing plant called TsKIB SOO. Among other subjects discussed they also talked about a new pistol, which is in development. In fact, they’ve released a computer mockup image of the pistol. The new gun is called OTs-122 (ОЦ-122) and it will be chambered in .45 ACP. So far only this image is available:
