TROY Industries has just announced that they will be moving both their headquarters and manufacturing plant to Clarksville, Tennessee. You may be familiar with TROY Industries from their popular line of sporting rifles including the unique TROY Pump Action Rifle (PAR). The move, which is taking place to “ensure the success of the company” citing the “changing climate for firearms manufacturers” as the impetus for the relocation. The 5-year plan will begin in June costing $7.2 million and creating 75 new jobs.

Troy came out to Big 3 East for their first time and brought out their latest and greatest. Lately Troy has been following the nostalgia trend. They came out with a replica of the XM177E and GAU-5/A/A. Well now they are making a replica of the rifle used in Mogadishu. You may have seen it in the Blackhawk Down movie. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of that event. Troy is making a replica of the M16A2 SFOD-D.

High Threat Concealment (HTC) collaborated with Troy Industries to make a conceal carry rig for the Troy PDW. If you look closely, the M7A1 stock is attached to a sling that runs under the shirt. The HTC rig holds the AR magazine. The design of the M7A1 stock allows the shooter to release the stock with the firing hand on fire control. With the stock retained by the sling, it is deployed as the shooter draws the PDW down and out of the HTC rig. This would be perfect for executive protection details. They should try making a rig to conceal the PDW with a Magpul 60.

Troy was showing off their M5 9mm Rifle at SHOT Show this year. The M5 is a combination of the highly popular AR-15 platform, and the re-surging 9mm cartridge. Caleb Giddings of Gun Nuts Media did a torture test last year on a Troy Battlemag. I have seen some torture tests of Troy Battlemags but somehow missed this one. I thought it was rather impressive how much damage this magazine took and it still functioned.
