Last year EOTech started offering their own line of night vision and thermal imaging devices, and this year they are introducing their first ever Laser Aiming Module: the OGL or “On-Gun-Laser.” The OGL is a relatively compact and lightweight multifunction aiming laser, with a VCSEL infrared illuminator, and coaligned IR laser designator and visible laser.

Unveiled for the first time at SHOT Show 2023, Taurus is expanding their TORO (Taurus Optics Ready Option) lineup to include the 856 and 605 revolver. Taurus is also adding new revolver models to their Executive Grade lineup with the new Executive Grade Judge making its debut at this year’s show.

New for 2023, Taurus has added a compact variant to the TX22 lineup. The TX22 Compact has a standard capacity of 13 rounds and can directly mount an optic using the Holosun K footprint. It can also accept magazines from the full size TX22 and Competition, and retains the threaded barrel adapter for use with suppressors.

STG-44 reproductions have been in the works from Hill & Mac Gun Works for a while, and now Palmetto State Armory is onboard to bring it across the finish line! The STG-44 reproduction is part of PSA’s new “Battlefield” line of retro inspired guns. There area few modern touches such as a new magazine pattern, and a tweaked gas system to help make the gun more shootable, but the look and feel is faithful to the original.

New for 2023, SilencerCo is adding a low backpressure or “flow through” suppressor to their lineup. The new Velos LBP is a 5.56 optimized low backpressure can, and integrates a 3d printed inconel core, with welded stainless steel at the front and rear. It still features SiCo’s now industry standard rear HUB threads for wide compatibility with suppressor mounting interfaces.

The venerable Walther P99 is being retired at 26 years of service, and Walther is paying tribute with a “Final Edition'” of the pistol. The Final Edition P99 is a generation 3 P99 with the Anti-stress trigger, and an OD green grip frame reminiscent of the original 1st generation P99. These will be available for a limited time with a commemorative case and medallion, and then… never again…

New for 2023, the 6.5 Creedmoor joins the SIG MCX Spear lineup. The rifle will now be available in three calibers: .277 Fury, 7.62x51mm, and 6.5 Creedmoor. SIG plans to release caliber exchange kits for the Spear, and with the quick change barrel feature it will be easy to swap between the three available calibers.

Fans of the Beretta 92 Billennium edition rejoice; the single action only Beretta 92 is back! The 92 Xi is a variant of the Beretta 92 X with a single action only trigger and a manual frame safety. The 92 Xi features many of the features of the other 92 X series including a Vertec style grip frame, and optics mounting system, but with a tuned single action trigger.

The new Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol is an American made semi-automatic tactical shotgun for under $1000. The A300 series carries forward many features of the well received Beretta 1301, but with a redesigned operating system (and a lower price tag). Hop shot the A300 Ultima Patrol side by side with the 1301 Tactical at SHOT Show 2023.

Hop and Luke took a trip down to the historic Gunsite Academy in Arizona and got a chance to shoot the new Mossberg Patriot LR Tactical out to a pretty good distance. The Patriot LR Tactical is the first chassis-style rifle in the Mossberg Patriot lineup, and is available at launch in 6.5 PRC, 6.5 Creedmoor, and .308 Winchester. We took the 6.5 PRC version out to 700 yards with the help of Gunsite’s instructors.

In this episode of TFBTV, Hop takes a look at one of the lightest, most compact .308 ARs on the market: the Ruger SFAR. The SFAR or Small Frame Autoloading Rifle isn’t an AR-10 or LR-308 pattern rifle, but rather an AR-15 size rifle chambered in .308 Winchester. The 16″ barrel version of the SFAR reviewed for this video weighs in at under 7 lbs out of the box. Like most Rugers, it’s also very affordable, already available for well under the $1229 MSRP.

In this episode of TFBTV, Hop reviews the CMMG Dissent, an ultra-compact PDW-style AR chambered in .300 Blackout. The Dissent has a recoil system fully contained in the upper receiver, which allows it to mount a folding stock or brace, and even fire folded. These are also available in 5.7x28mm and 5.56x45mm but .300 Blackout is (of course) the one you want.

In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves brings you an exclusive on the NEW Glock 47, coming to the civilian market in 2023. Originally introduced quietly by Glock in 2019, the Glock 47 was a contract-only gun for Department of Homeland Security Customs and Border Protection agents. A full-size 9mm pistol with a 17-round capacity and the Glock MOS optics mounting system, the Glock 47 is similar to the Glock 17 MOS – almost identical, on paper. But the Glock 47 has a few tricks up its sleeve. Using a Glock 45 frame, the Glock 47 has the ability to also accept Glock 19 slides. Moreover, the Glock 47 slide is compatible with Glock 19 frames, meaning that the G47 gives you unofficial access to the long-awaited factory Glock 19L “long slide.”
