#Tavor7

Over two years ago TFB were one of the first to report about the upcoming IWI Tavor 7 in 7.62×51 mm.

NOTE: We previously reported that the Tavor 7 might be fielded as a designated marksman rifle for the IDF. However, according to our source at IWI, the prior article we cited from the Jerusalem Post contained misleading wording with comments from IWI taken out of context. They have advised that there are no formal plans for the IDF to formally adopt the Tavor 7, at least not yet. While the IDF is considering a compact DMR and it seems that the Tavor 7 bullpup would fit the bill in that respect, the Tavor 7 has not been selected for fielding at this time. The below is a version of today’s earlier article that has been corrected to more accurately represented the present facts.

We at TFB were fortunate enough to get a preemptive sneak peek of a lot of the firearms and sweetness that is present at SHOT Show Industry Range Day. Part of that was seeing in the flesh (err, bare metal) the NEW Tavor TS12 12 Gauge and the Tavor 7 .308 win rifles from IWI.

Just like Heckler & Koch USA, IWI US Inc. is relocating due to growth.

It looks like Meprolight are going to have a busy stand at Milipol 2017 in Paris. They are member of the SK Group and a leading manufacturer of electro-optical systems, thermal and night vision equipment, self-illuminated sights, and Laser Range Finder systems for military, law enforcement and civil applications.

IWI are certainly up to some very interesting product launches, for instance the Tavor 7 “Major” in 7,62×51 mm and the Masada pistol.

The information about the Tavor 7 AR in 7.62×51 mm is not new, TFB reported about it in June and July.

The 2017 Association of the US Army annual meeting was the public debut of Israel’s new full caliber bullpup rifle, the Tavor 7.  Announced in late June via IWI’s Facebook page, the Tavor 7 is a 7.62mm / .308 Winchester caliber semiautomatic bullpup rifle patterned after the Tavor family of 5.56mm (etc.) caliber bullpups.

If you ever wanted to buy a Tavor SAR bullpup now is the time to act. IWI US is phasing out the SAR for the X95.
