The Brazilian truckers strike: PRF firearms in use

Brazil was recently (late-May 2018) involved in a nationwide truckers strike, the economic and political implications of which are, obviously, outside the scope of TFB. But occasional and unavoidable conflicts from blocked roads tensions did emerge, which in turn had to be dealt with by LE agencies and some military forces. And this, sure, brought firearms into action, which is fully in our range of coverage. Not much came into general view, but this local correspondent took the time to search for some images provided by longtime friend Oyoy Kanamox  (he wouldn’t tell me the sources, though).

Rio's Civil Police in Action and Pics

In a previous article ( http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2017/03/03/weapons-rios-crime-war-pmerj-side/), TFB showed some images of PMERJ – Polícia Militar do Estado do Rio de Janeiro in the frontline of the war against crime in Rio. Being the major responsible for street/community patrol and immediate response to criminal actions, it’s no wonder that the Military Police’s deep commitment at such is also reflected by the number of agents killed on- and off-duty in the State in the January-May 2017 period: 83 “Mikes”, as they are commonly called! Yessir, there’s a war going on here!
