SIG Sauer's TANGO6T DVO Military Optic Now Avaialbe for Purchase

When SIG Sauer and SIG Sauer Electro-Optics first announced the introduction of their SIG Spear (M5) rifle they also paired it with a specific trim of the TANGO6T 1-6x24mm LPVO optic. This specific trim was designed and accepted by the U.S. Military and was dubbed the TANGO6T DVO or Direct View Optic. This optic system comes complete with the ALPHA4 mount, lay-flat flip caps, and an anti-reflection device and is now being made available for purchase by the general public for the first time.

Over the last half-decade, Low-Power Variable Optics (LPVO) have exploded in popularity. Although the ever-popular red dot and magnifier combo still remains popular and perhaps a favorite for many, there is no disputing the LPVO platform has many advantages and unique capabilities and applications with regards to shooting. SIG Sauer invited me out in November of 2020 to tour their facility in Oregon and during my time there I was able to get a look at their full lineup of electro-optics including the yet-to-be-released TANGO6T LPVO. Since then, I’ve been rigorously testing my TANGO6T as well as a few other TANGO6T models I’ve encountered out in the wild, and today I’ll share with you my experiences with the relatively new contender to the LPVO market.

SIG SAUER Announces TANGO6T Riflescope Selected for US Army's Direct View Optic

Last month we reported that SIG Sauer had been awarded a major contract to provide the US Army’s new Direct View Optic (DVO) which will be used on the current M4A1 carbine, replacing the venerable ACOG. An award notice valued at $77,168,400 was posted in September.
