Arm Brace Ban Rule Blocked By Court (For Some People, For Now)
A lawsuit spearheaded by the Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) has secured a preliminary injunction against the ATF arm brace ban. What exactly does that mean? And who does that apply to? This is all still a little unclear, but let’s take a look at this case and what might be on the horizon.
TFB Review: Strike Industries Dual Folding Adapter (Stock/Brace)
At the last SHOT Show, back in January, Strike Industries unveiled a lot of new products. One of which was this Dual Folding Adapter. I was intrigued by it and its potential for a variety of weapons. Strike Industries sent one in for review so let’s take a closer look at it.
SB Tactical's Response To The ATF Potential Pistol Brace Ruling
When it comes to 2020 and firearms regulations 2020 has been quite the roller coaster ride. Actually, that is not accurate; a roller coaster is fun and ATF regulations are not. A few weeks ago, we discussed the ATF contradicting previous determinations of SB Tactical braces, and most recently the Buy Build Shoot kits from Polymer 80. Well, in recent news, the ATF seems to be formalizing plans for a pistol brace ruling. A few days ago they released a draft detailing a proposed “re-imagination” of pistol braces on firearms.
F5 MFG Brace Adapter for ACR Stocks
In lieu of the recent news of ATF taking another look at firearms with braces, F5 MFG is coming out with an ACR brace to convert an ACR stock into a brace. F5 MFG is known for their soda can launcher. While it is not the XS Products can launcher, it is a similar product. I actually bought one last year in Vegas from Ventura Munitions while I was in town for SHOT Show 2019.
ATF Apparently Contradicting Themselves About SB Tactical Braces
An article popped up recently from Ammoland that alleges the ATF is singling out SB Tactical and their products. However, there may be a greater issue below the surface. The ATF seems to be re-evaluating previous determinations and contradicting information previously provided to manufacturers and consumers. Let us take a look at the problem and point out the fallacy of the ATF.
Recover Tactical 20/20 Buttstock and Upper Rail
Earlier this year Recover Tactical debuted their new 20/20 Stabilizer kit and holster at SHOT Show 2020. Their brace works with 9mm and 40SW Glock models that come with a rail. A few months ago they also released their new MG9 Angled Grip and Glock Mag Holder. As the name implies, the MG9 is an angled grip that can attach to any standard Picatinny rail that also doubles as a Glock magazine holder. You can check out the 20/20 brace and holster in action below:
Breaking News: ATF's Secret Brace Ban
Here we go again. If you recall, the ATF, unfortunately, has a history of backpedaling pre-established decisions and interpretations of the law and later changing their minds. The Bump Stock Ban is a great example where they took a pre-established firearm accessory and changed the narrative to claim that they are now considered machine guns. If you want to refresh your memory read my analysis of the bump stock ban. Recently news has broken from Congressman Gaetz about the ATF’s secret brace ban.
SB Tactical – SBA3 vs SBA4 – What Each Are Like
SB Tactical has become one of the larger brace manufacturers for the gun industry. They make braces for most of the popular firearm models available today. There are a few very common braces that are some of SB Tactical’s most popular called the SBM4 and SBA3. The SBM4 was a fixed brace that was one of the first popular style braces that SB Tactical made. In the last couple of years, SB Tactical came out with the SBA3 brace which was one of the first braces to be adjustable. Now two years later, SB Tactical has come out with the SBA4 brace which is essentially the adjustable version of SB Tactical’s popular SBM4 model. So what’s the difference between the SBA3 and SBA4? Let’s take a look at them.
SB Tactical Warns of Stabilizing Brace Counterfeits & Knock-Offs
With the burgeoning popularity of AR and AK pistols, SB Tactical has one of the most in-demand accessories on the market with their pistol braces. As their light continues to shine brighter there will always be those who go to great lengths to copy a good idea whether in a legal or illegal fashion. As a result, SB Tactical is trying to curb as many of the illegal impostors as possible. They issued this public statement to distributors recently to make everyone more aware of counterfeits and cheap knock-offs:
SB Tactical SBA4 Now Shipping And New SBA3 Colors
At last SHOT Show, SB Tactical showed off their prototype for their new SBA4 stabilizing brace. With the popularity of their SBA3 brace, SB Tactical made an SBA4. As I mentioned in my SHOT Show article, the SBA4 is a hybrid of the SBM4 and SBA3 braces.
[SHOT 2019] SB Tactical's Prototype SBA4 Stabilizing Brace
Due to the weather on the east coast a majority of the SB Tactical team had their flights delayed and or canceled. While the HKPDW brace was at their booth, their prototype SBA4 was stuck on the east coast. Fortunately they were able to get it shipped out and it made it to SHOT Show half way through the week so I went back to check it out.
[SHOT 2019] SB Tactical MP5 HKPDW Brace
SB Tactical has a booth down in the basement of SHOT SHOW this year. Last year they had one of those tiny kiosk stands in the Next section just outside the Press Room. I walked by to check in on what they have new for Shot Show. Well they have a prototype of their new MP5 collapsing brace here at SHOT SHOW. It is called the HKPDW brace.
