Colt CZ Group SE Acquires The Remaining Stake in Spuhr

Colt CZ Group have announced the acquisition of the remaining 75% stake in its Swedish subsidiary Spuhr i Dalby AB. The company is best known for their optics mounts, attachment systems and the Spuhr stock for the G3 and MP5 family of weapons. The then CZ Group (now Colt CZ Group) first acquired a minority stake in Spuhr back in May 2020.

POTD: Sniper Competition – K4 Arctic Rangers vs Finland

TFB’s Photo Of The Day is where you can discover the world of firearms through a camera lens. Every day we run a new theme, selected pictures a short story and credit to the person behind the lens. Today we have images from the Swedish Norrland Dragoon Regiment, also known as K4. This is a Swedish Army unit specialized in arctic warfare and special operations. Located in the province of Lappland, it was historically a cavalry unit that traces its origins back to the 17th century. This time there were competitors  from the Finnish Kainuu Brigade (see above).

TFB Review: InfiRay Tube TH50 Thermal Imaging Riflescope

This is a review of the InfiRay Outdoor Tube TH50 Thermal Imaging Riflescope. In the U.S. it’s called the Bolt-C Series. This is InfiRay’s brand new flagship model, with 50 mm optics and a powerful 12 μm 640×512 thermal sensor. The image is displayed on a round 1.03” Micro-OLED screen, with a 2560×2560 pixels resolution. All this technology has been cramped into a traditional-looking riflescope, which can be mounted using standard 30mm rings like any normal day scope.

POTD: New Sako M23 DMR with Steiner M7Xi 2.9-20×50

TFB’s Photo Of The Day has become an impressive gallery, with an ever-growing number of images of firearms in all sorts of environments. Today we’re going to add one more, on the subject of a new era of semi-automatic Designated Marksman Rifles (DMR) that is seeing the light of day. The photo shows the Sako M23 DMR for the Finnish Defence Force. Goodbye Dragunov SVD and 7.62×54mmR! Welcome CZ Bren 2 PPS and 7.62x51mm!  The Czech Army (Armáda České republiky) has ordered a total of 350 pieces of the new CZ Bren 2 PPS rifles. The rifle is made by Česká zbrojovka a.s. (CZ) on the basis of the CZ Bren 2, which in turn was developed from the 805 BREN in caliber 5.56x45mm or 7.62x39mm.

POTD: Austrian Special Forces Sniper with HK417P and ZC527

In 2019 TFB were the first to discover the new Heckler & Koch HK417P model. To the best of our knowledge, this is the rifle we’re looking at in the front row. The HK417P was made for Austria and is a combination of the HK417 assault rifle and G28 precision rifle. It is a semi-automatic only rifle.

Photo Of The Day: Portuguese Special Forces training aircraft intervention, here just before entering. The unit is called Grupo de Intervenção de Operações Especiais or GIOE for short. In this training event, they had the support of Air Portugal and the Airport of Lisbon. You can see the iconic Heckler & Koch MP5 above, suppressed (B&T) and with the stock collapsed. In terms of handguns, they have been seen using both SIG Sauers and Glocks.
