If you have been following along in the various MP5 groups on social media, Marcus of Gibbous Outfitters is developing accessories for the MP5. Marcus sent his Gibbous Outfitters MP5K furniture for me to test on my HK SP5K PDW SBR which I now dub the MP5K-SD (Super Deformed).

POTD, short for Photo Of The Day, is TFB’s recurring articles where we go to great length trying to find the best pictures and stories out there. Today we have a photo from Alabama Arsenal, including some highly interesting firearms like the Heckler & Koch SP5K-PDW with a Ghost suppressor from Dead Air Silencers. The firearm to the right is a Mini Fix made by Q, LLC and their Thunder Chicken suppressor with an EOTech Vudu Optics 1-6x Power. The brace adapter is an AB-8R from JMac Customs and the MOD1C Tailhook from Gearheadworks.

The new Heckler & Koch SP5K-PDW is here! This is one of the most iconic firearms in the World – although I prefer it with a stock and a red dot – and it’s now available for sale. If you think you’ve seen all pictures of it, you haven’t. In this Photo Of The Day, we have a mixture with a few new ones for you.

Following on the heels of last year’s SP5 release, H&K has just announced the release of the SP5K PDW – an MP5K PDW for those of us without deep pockets or OP orders from Uncle Sam. Like the SP5, the SP5K PDW is about as close as you can get to owning the real thing. Released in 2016, the SP5K was a new hope for H&K fans that were pleading for near clones of classic fully automatic German hardware. Although without features like a paddle mag release and traditional trigger housings, traditionalists were forced to either have a quality H&K gunsmith make the needed changes to a brand new $2,500 gun, or continue to wait.

In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves reveals the H&K SP5K-PDW. The SP5K-PDW is, essentially, a civilian version of the H&K MP5K-PDW, which is, itself, an improved version of the H&K MP5K, which in turn is a shortened version of the H&K MP5.  In other words, the SP5K-PDW is a shortened civilian version of the MP5, but, unlike the H&K SP5K or the MP5K, the PDW comes with all of the features we wanted from H&K, including a combo threaded/tri-lug barrel, paddle mag release, ability to easily add a stock or brace – and it’s made in Germany, from the same assembly line as H&K’s military and law enforcement contract guns.
