TFB Review: The Slick-Sided CZ P10 M Micro Compact Pistol
The CZ P10 M pistol was released in Europe in 2019, then in the US in 2020. The US market was polarized and seems to be one of those concepts that people either love or hate. What’s so controversial about the CZ P10 M, you ask? It really comes down to the omission of one part, the manual slide release, not to be confused with a slide stop in this case, as it still has one that locks the slide to the rear after the last round is fired. Let’s take a look at the pros and cons of this concept, as well as how the CZ P10 M actually feels, conceals, and shoots.
HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? Valorius Optimized or Victimized Ruger LCPs?
Welcome everyone to the 53rd edition of ‘Hot Gat or Fudd Crap?’, one of our many series here on TFB. If you’re new to the series, this is where we look at the most obscure firearms that are actually for sale (most of the time) and ask the question – is this Gat a sweet deal or does it only have Fudd appeal? Each week the TFB staff weighs in with their thoughts, but readers get the final say in the poll at the bottom of each article.
Single Stack Shootout – Taurus G2S vs Ruger EC9s
If you only have $200 bucks to buy a single stack 9mm, the Ruger EC9s and Taurus G2S might have caught your eye. In this episode of TFBTV, Hop shoots them both head to head to find out how low can you go. Which is better? Which is the better value? Let’s find out!
UPDATE: Go from a Single-Stack 1911 to a Double-Stack?… Nighthawk Custom will CONVERT your 9mm
[UPDATE: This article originally posted that Nighthawk Custom customers could send in Nighthawk Custom pistols they already own to have a Double-Stack Conversion applied to their Single-Stack 1911 models. This is INCORRECT and an error of the author of this article. I personally, and we at TFB, apologize for the confusion this created. Please read on to be informed as to what NIghthawk Custom can now offer to you.]
New Kahr 9mm "S-Series" Pistols
Announced at the NRA show earlier this year, Kahr Arms of Greeley, Pennsylvania is shipping their “S-Series” of 9mm handguns. The new series of handguns features a variety of welcome updates to Kahr’s reputable line of handguns. In fact, our own James Reeves has proclaimed the Kahr CM9 his “favorite 9mm ccw pistol.”
Review: Glock 43 (G43) 9mm – Mousegun "Perfection"?
Is it too much to ask from a mouse gun to be at least 9mm, reliable, and shootable? Based on various other offerings on the market, it could be argued that the combination of the three was a tall order. Various weapons in .380 were good, but 9mm was a beast that the form factor had a hard time dealing with.
Honor Defense Honor Guard Single Stack 9mm
There are seemingly endless options on the market when you are looking for a single stack 9mm, so why choose the Honor Defense Honor Guard? In this episode of TFBTV, Patrick takes the Honor Guard out to the range to find out. The Honor Guard has an impressive list of features like a nicely stippled frame, a stainless steel chassis, replaceable grips, and a takedown that does not require the trigger to be pulled.
Springfield Armory XDE First Look | NRA 17
Just yesterday Springfield Armory introduced the new XDE pistol to the world at NRA’s Annual Meetings in Atlanta. Patrick gets a first look at the new hammer fired double/single action pistol on the show floor. With features like a 8 round single stack magazine and a safety/decocking lever, the new XDE is an interesting addition to the Springfield pistol lineup.
Walther PPS M1: The First Single Stack 9mm Glock?
The Walther PPS M1 was introduced in 2005, well before the Glock 43 or the Smith & Wesson Shield. For many years The PPS was one of the go to single stack 9mm pistols for concealed carriers with the Kahr PM series being the other option for those looking at polymer framed guns. In recent years the PPS M1 has fallen off the radar of many gun owners thanks to the introduction of the Shield that can be bought for about a hundred dollars less but I still feel as though the M1 is very relevant for those looking for a single stack gun today.
Building Our Very Own Honor Guard In The Factory
While we were at Honor Defense taking a tour of their facility, we were offered the chance to not only see how they built the single stack Honor Guard but also have a chance to build our very own! I would be foolish to turn down the chance to build my very own gun in the factory. On top of all of that, I was going to get a first-hand lesson in how different the Honor Guard is from the M&P Shield even though they look very similar on the surface.
We Tour Honor Defense's Assembly Facility and Headquarters
It just so happened that I found myself in Atlanta, Georgia for a wedding and had a bit of time to kill. Instead of spending some time getting to know the city or eating at the original Chic-Fil-A, The Dwarf House (cue the jokes about how appropriate that is for me), I decided to give Gary Ramey with Honor Defense a call. Gary offered to give me a tour of their facility and he even might let me build my own gun.
POTD: Those Are Some Huge Rounds
At first glance I was a bit confused by this photo. The Lancer mags show us the rounds and they are huge. Since it appears to be single stack with ballistic tips I thought this was some bizzare pistol caliber round. Nope it is .458 SOCOM.
The First Remington R51 Gen 2s Are HERE
One week ago, we reported that Remington had distributed letters to owners of the troubled first generation R51 pistols that their replacements from the new second-generation were ready to be shipped. Since then, YouTuber and R51 buyer RyeOnHam has received his second generation R51 replacement pistol, and released a first look video on the weapon, embedded below:
