SIG Sauer P290 RS in .380 ACP

For the new year, SIG Sauer will introduce a new caliber to the P290 RS line: the .380 ACP.  Other than the caliber, the new .380 guns will be very similar to the existing 9mm P290 RS pistols: double-action-only, hammer fired and on a polymer frame. The guns will come [Read More…]

ISP Adopts SIG P227

In some ways, the US law enforcement market is a bellwether for handgun trends.  In the 1980’s, for example, law enforcement began to move en masse to the semi-automatic pistol and much of the buying public did as well.  Some would say the early adoption of the [Read More…]

SIG P938 Suppression

SIG Sauer displayed a suppressed P938 pistol at the 2013 SHOT Show, and there was some speculation as to whether this gun would be a shipping model. Sigsauerguns.com recently posted that a model number has popped up for a threaded P938 barrel (just the barrel, not a [Read More…]

Single Action SIG P226

The P226 is one of the most popular SIG Sauer handguns of all time.  There are a variety of different models in the P226 line, but at Media Day, I got to shoot one of the new variants:  the single-action P226. This P226 looks and feels a lot like the classic P226.  [Read More…]

SIG have updated the SIG P290 which they introduced in 2010. The updated P290 RS has DAO Restrike capability, a reshaped beavertail frame, recontoured magazine release, reduced and reshaped slide release and finger-grip magazine floorplates. The changes are, at least in [Read More…]

SIG 556R

I had hoped to fire the SIG 556R at Media Day but the queue to shoot it was too long and after waiting about 15 minutes I left the SIG range. It looks like a fun gun to shoot. SIG will be selling it this year with a camo finish.

SIG P938 9mm Sub Compact

SIG has scaled up their .380 ACP P238 platform to create the 9mm P938. The P938 is all metal, single action and has a 6+1 capacity. I did not have the opportunity to fire the gun but what I saw I liked.

An industry insider has confirmed that next year SIG will begin manufacturing SIG516 rifles chambered in .300 AAC BLK. These rifles will probably be introduced at SHOT Show. The more rifles running this cartridge the better 🙂

New SIG SIG551A1

SIG Sauer will soon be shipping the SIG 551-A1. This rifle is essentially a SIG556 upper receiver, with Swiss-style furniture, combined with an aluminum SIG 551-style lower receiver. The biggest difference between the SIG 551A1 and the SIG 556 is that the former uses [Read More…]
