The Danish National Police have selected the SIG Sauer P320 as the replacement for the HK USP Compact currently in service. The USP Compacts have been in service for 25 years, the new pistols will be procured through SIG Sauer’s Danish representatives CT Solutions. The model of P320 and the number of pistols to be procured has not been announced, however, the Danish National Police has over 11,000 officers. The Danish Army selected the SIG Sauer P320 X-Carry in 2018.

Over the last few years, SIG has released a couple new variations of their P320 line. Last year, I wrote up a review of their Spectre Comp which you can find the link to here. Their newest member of the P320 family is the new P320 AXG Legion. This model takes the concept of a compensator integrated into the slide from the P365 Spectre Comp. The larger expansion chamber of the P320 in conjunction with the AXG metal frame and this P320 feels different from the other variations. Let’s take a closer look at the SIG Sauer P320 AXG Legion.

So far it’s been a fantastic year for TFB’s Photo Of The Day. Every day we deliver images of all sorts and today is no exception. We have the Strike Modular Chassis (SMC) by Strike Industries. They claim this is the most modular SIG Sauer P320 chassis in the world – designed in Southern California and tested at various California and Nevada shooting facilities. Above you see it by the components, down to the Loctite, and below what it can look like assembled.

VK Integrated Systems has announced the VK320 grip module for the SIG Sauer P320 family of handguns. You can order it in black or tan, in full or EDC/Carry sizes, with the safety cut or without. The new grip modules have VK Integrated Systems’ logotype as a grip pattern and the backstraps are interchangeable. This product is made in the USA and is said to be compatible with all standard holsters and magazine base pads made for the P320.

Late last month we reported that the US Marine Corps has launched a new initiative –Marine Corps Systems Command’s Program Manager for Infantry Weapons (PM – IW). PM – IW has begun a large-scale modernisation program to increase the lethality of the Marine infantry squad.

Our Photo today is very clean. It’s a picture of the SIG Sauer P320 with serial number 58H1000000. Not only the serial number makes this gun unique. As it’s the one-millionth P320, the grips are hand-cut in granite and the high-gloss polished surface finishing has some 14k gold inlays.

Over the last few years, my preferences have changed from Glock’s modularity to the P320 and its overall options for customization. Last week, I looked at the new RXP XCompact and the overall evolution of a factory SIG 320, but what about the aftermarket community?  The Glock community had an explosion in aftermarket parts as it became more popular and it created a cycle of new customers purchasing Glocks to build them exactly how they wanted them. I purchased my first Glock 19 for this reason but the P320 is different.

Over the last 10 months or so, I have carried the XCompact from SIG Sauer and it has become one of the top carry guns I own. The P320 series is one of the more modular pistol designs on the market today with the ability to change out most components to create a truly unique handgun. The original XCompact from SIG was a very reliable concealed carry handgun that gave the user options on mounting optics and small lights. Over the last 10 months, I’ve put about 3,200 rounds through the standard XCompact without issues, but now with the RXP XCompact being released, we can check out the difference between the two guns. Let’s dive into comparing the standard XCompact to the new RXP XCompact.

Mirzon, a Washington state-based manufacturer, had their new Enhanced Grip Module for the SIG Sauer P320 and P250 on display at this year’s SHOT Show. Mirzon’s after-market frames for the popular SIG pistols offers a significant ergonomic upgrade.

Flux Defense, best known for their quick deploy stock system for pistols, have announced their latest product, a PDW Adaptor System for the SIG Sauer P320/M17 – the MP17. The MP17 adaptor turns the pistol into a holsterable personal defence weapon. The adaptor essentially replaces the grip frame of the P320 using the SIG’s fire control group, barrel, slide and recoil spring.

Stern Defense magwell adapters are a great way to caliber convert a mil-spec AR-15 lower to shoot a pistol caliber. They started with a Glock magazine adapter. Check out my review of their MAG-AD9. They have also made adapters to use Beretta 92 magazines and even M&P 45 magazines. However, their latest design uses SIG P320 magazines which also doubles as an M&P9 mag adapter.

SIG Sauer has announced that Virginia’s Division of Capitol Police has selected the SIG Sauer P320. Virginia Division of Capitol Police can lay claim to being the US’ oldest police department, established during the 17th century when the Colony of Virginia was first founded. The department conducts both uniform patrols but also oversees the personal protection of the state Governor. It appears Virginia’s Capitol Police have selected the P320 Nitron Full-Size pistol, in an undisclosed calibre.

SIG Sauer have announced that Alabama’s Montgomery Police Department will be adopting the SIG P320 as their next official duty pistol. The department has over 500 officers, currently armed with Glocks. SIG have been enjoying a steady stream of law enforcement contracts of late, Montgomery PDs being the latest in a series including Virginia State Police,  Tampa PD,  Arkansas’ Jacksonville PD and the Texas Department for Public Safety.

Although most Brazilian law enforcement agencies have for long been limited – mostly, forced by legal restraints – to acquiring service guns in the local market (e.g. Taurus, IMBEL, CBC), this trend is now gradually changing. To set the record straight, it should be recalled that the Departamento de Polícia Federal (Federal Police Department) and the Polícia Rodoviaria Federal (Federal Highway Police) have for some time seen more independence in this area with the procurement of foreign-made weapons, the same applying to a few other state agencies in search of specific items not available locally. Such was the case of the recent acquisition of 5,000 .40 S&W Gen5 Glock 22 pistols by PMESP – Polícia Militar do Estado de São Paulo (São Paulo State Military Police), and the use of 9x19mm Glock 19s and 7.62x51mm Armalite AR-10A4 rifles by Rio’s Military and Civil Police forces, as examples.
