TFB Behind The Gun Podcast #38: Joel Hodgdon with Remington
In this episode of the TFB Behind the Gun podcast, we’re back at SHOT Show 2022 with Joel Hodgdon and the Remington Arms Company. Pete and Joel are here to talk a bit about how the last two years have affected the longstanding arms manufacturer and what Remington has planned for 2022 and beyond. Joel Hodgdon has spent the last couple of years working directly with the Remington brand and his previous experience includes time at the Congressional Sportsman’s foundation, as well as several years as a board member of the Hodgdon Power Company
TFB Behind The Gun Podcast #35: Chris and Andrew from YHM
SHOT Show 2022 was a blast for the TFB crew and for many of us, it’s not so much the guns and gear that we are excited to see but instead the relationships that we’ve built throughout the years at these types of shows. YHM has sponsored the TFB’s Silencer Saturday for a number of years so we are more than happy to bring them on this episode of the TFB Behind the Gun Podcast. Suppressors have taken a more central focus within the firearms community over the last half-decade or so and as a result, more and more people are either seriously considering or taking the leap into fabled NFA territory. Today Pete, Chris, and Andrew talk a bit about the suppressor industry, how things have been for the last couple of years, and of course, where YHM would like to find itself down the road in terms of business.

In this article, we’ll take a brief look at the three coolest prototype guns that this author came across during SHOT Show 2022.

Welcome to TFB Podcast Roundup 28. Hopefully, everyone that was able to attend SHOT 2022 had a great time, and for the rest of us that weren’t able to make it to the show, I hope the coverage from all of your favorite sources was both comprehensive and entertaining. Personally, I quite enjoyed SHOT 2022, it was really good to be back on the SHOT Show floor with some of the TFB/TFBTV crew and it was also nice rubbing shoulders with the people in the industry again. This week for the podcast roundup I figured you guys might enjoy some of what other gun media outlets might be saying about the show, and of course, TFB will have our very own post-show wrap up this coming week. Until then, enjoy this week’s selection of podcast listening.
The Rimfire Report: The Best Rimfire Guns From SHOT 2022
Hello and welcome back to another edition of The Rimfire Report! This ongoing series is all about the rimfire firearm world and its various guns, ammunition, history, and trends. It was somewhat refreshing to get back into the switch of things for the start of 2022 by heading to SHOT 2022. As I expected, there was a decent handful of new firearms to gawk at and that includes rimfire junkies. Today we’ll be looking at some of the best rimfire guns from SHOT 2022. SHOT Show is absolutely massive and I wasn’t able to shoot or get my hands on all of these and I’m almost certain there are a handful of new rimfire guns I missed completely. If there are any other cool rimfires you guys saw from this year’s SHOT Show that isn’t on this list, feel free to drop a tip down in the comments below.

[SHOT 2022] New AR-15 Models From Anderson Manufacturing
Anderson Manufacturing is a major producer of AR-15 parts and complete guns. In fact, they made 700,000 lower receivers last year alone. Several new models in their AM-15 line were on display at SHOT Show 2022. Most notably, Anderson is back in the AR pistol market. They have not produced pistols in the last few years, but their new family of AR pistols is bringing that era to an end. These 5.56 and .300 Blackout pistols are available now direct from the manufacturer. Anderson does not name their complete guns (other than a part number), so we will be referring to them by their features.
[SHOT 2022] The 44 Auto Mag Makes an Appearance at Range Day
Auto Mag made a special appearance this year during SHOT Show 2022 Industry Dat at the Range via Palmetto State Armory. PSA graciously offered Auto Mag a spot at their lane so that the company could show off the latest functional improvements to the legendary .44 Auto Mag pistol. We were able to speak with Patrick Henry, owner of Auto Mag Ltd., Co about the pistol and he showed us two variants of the pistol. We also got a chance to finally shoot the pistol after seeing it displayed on the showroom for the past 6 years.
[SHOT 2022] Warne Expands Product Line To Include Holsters
Warne Scope Mounts is (unsurprisingly) known as a manufacturer of scope mounting solutions, but they are now a holster maker as well. Their new Every Day Carry line includes holsters for OWB, IWB, and alternative carry methods, like chest holsters.
[SHOT 2022] Schmidt & Bender 6-36×56 PM II Scope
During the SHOT Show 2022, Schmidt & Bender introduced a new first focal plane riflescope, the 6-36×56 PM II. As the model name implies, it is a variable power scope with a 6x zoom ratio and 56mm objective lens diameter. The metal magnification adjustment ring is a new feature that some other S&B scope models of this product family will be retrofitted with too. Overall, like other Schmidt & Bender products, the new scope felt to be a solid and high-quality piece of equipment. We are looking forward to reviewing this scope. Stay tuned!
[SHOT 2022] New Double Barreled Airbow from Umarex – The Umarex Airsaber Elite X2
New for this year from Umarex is the Airsaber Elite X2, a 450fps airbow that generates 130 ft-lbs of energy. Accurate out past 100 yards, this airbow has serious power on tap. The most unique feature, however, is that this airbow is double barreled, allowing one to rapidly fire two arrows downrange rapidly, one right into the other if you aim well enough.

Zeta6 manufactures and sells an innovative line of speed strips and speed loaders for 5- and 6-shot revolvers.
