Faxon Introduces Carbon Fiber Handguard, Low Profile Brakes and Flash Hiders | SHOT 17
Barrel and rifle manufacturer Faxon Firearms shared a partition with magazine manufacturer Lancer Systems, with whom they are partnered. One of their first shared projects was on display: An M-LOK compatible carbon fiber handguard for AR-15 rifles, which are significantly lighter than traditional handguards, and which have a much lower heat transfer coefficient (they stay cool longer). The handguards’ manufacturer, Lancer, is also the partner with SIG USA, supplying OEM magazines and carbon fiber handguards for many of that company’s rifles and submachine guns.
Q Suppressors Brings Modular Erector and Durable El Camino Silencers to the Range | SHOT 17
Brand new and enigmatically named suppressor company “Q” had a booth at the SHOT Show 2017 Industry Day at the Range, where they showed off their first two suppressor offerings. The first – announced earlier this year – is the El Camino, a tubular .22 rimfire suppressor made from titanium, intended to provide better accuracy than previous rimfire suppressors available on the market, especially the AAC Element. The El Camino is already available for sale through SilencerShop, for less than $400.
