NEW .mil Contract Mossberg Breacher Shotguns
James Reeves is at SHOT Show 2024 with Mossberg to discuss two European military contract breacher shotguns that were designed to the specs requested by two high-profile European units. There’s a Mossberg 590M variant and a simpler, less expensive (and less frills) Shockwave version. Both will be released to the civilian market shortly. Check the video for details.
WOOX Introduces the Gladiatore Furniture for Mossberg Pump Shotguns
In a few years, we’ve seen WOOX bringing to market anything from innovative rifle furniture to axes and knives. The common trait is the rather unconventional use of wood elements. Their latest product, the Gladiatore, brings the WOOX signature aesthetics to Mossberg pump action shotguns.
DIY Schlieren Imaging of Bullets In Slow Motion
If you have been reading some of my articles this past year, you must have noticed I have been using a Chronos 1.4 slow-motion camera. I have been looking up different ways to use my slow-motion camera in the context of studying firearms. I have helped to film weapon malfunctions that happen too fast for the eye to see. But what else can I do? Filming bullets flying through the air is kind of boring but there is something else you can do. Schlieren imaging uses a system of light and concave mirrors to see changes of density in a medium. Specifically the change in density of air. So I looked up how to do it and got to it.
TFB Review: Jawbone Tactical Mossberg Shotgun Red Dot Mount
There is a common misconception perpetuated with shotguns. “You don’t have to aim, just point and shoot”. Sadly, our current president made a very bad statement several years ago that has not helped the fallacy that shotguns do not need to be aimed. If you have ever shot a shotgun competitively, they most certainly need to be aimed. Otherwise trap and skeet would be easy. While shotguns do have a form of a sight, typically a bead sight, they are not great. It is 2021, let’s put red dots on our shotguns. Jawbone Tactical makes a red dot mount for the Mossberg 500/590 shotgun.

Fudge the NFA! NEW Mossberg 12 Gauge Shockwaves for 2019
There is very little we enjoy more than hearing about new firearms around Christmas time. Just be sure to not shoot your eye out! Mossberg has been tinkering around their workshop and they have 3 NEW Shockwave models for us as we near 2019. One is the Nightstick with more classical wood furniture. Another is the Shock ‘N’ Saw which looks like a zombie killer’s wet dream. The last new model is the Shockwave SPX lending similar traits as those found on the full-frame SPX shotguns from Mossberg.
Mossberg 590 NIGHTSTICK Firearm Now Shipping
The Mossberg Shockwave with wooden furniture is now available for purchase … and it is called Nightstick. The company has recently announced the availability of this pump-action shotgun firearm on their social media pages. Besides the wooden furniture, the Nightstick also comes with a leather forearm strap instead of the nylon one that Shockwaves come with.
JUST RELEASED: Mossberg Shockwave 590M
Mossberg has just signaled the commercial availability of their latest Shockwave firearm chambered in 12 gauge scattergun bliss. The Shockwave 590M was announced earlier this year leading up to the SHOT Show in Vegas, sporting magazines over the more traditional tube-fed Shockwave. In case you’ve been living in a cave, had a While You Were Sleeping event, drafted into the Space Force and immediately deployed to the outlying terraformed planets or otherwise refuse to live in the modern world, the Shockwave is not a Shotgun nor is it an NFA controlled weapon. Although chambered In a gauge and not a caliber and having a barrel shorter than 18”, the combination of overall length and having no shoulder stock leaves the 590M categorized strictly as a firearm. Cash and carry… in most places.

[SHOT 2018] Hands On with FightLite's MCR Lightweight Belt-Fed, Raider Pistol
At the 2018 SHOT Show Industry Day at the Range, Florida gunmaker FightLite Industries, best known for their SCR “ban state” lower receiver that allows “compliant” rifles to be made using AR-15 components. FightLite also is the manufacturer of the MCR upper receiver, a conversion kit that transforms an AR-15 into a belt-fed light machine gun.
Black Aces Tactical Mag Fed Shockwave 12 Gauge Shotgun
Black Aces Tactical recently announced that they will be offering a magazine fed version of the Mossberg Shockware 12 Gauge shotgun. If you don’t remember Black Aces Tactical they’re the folks that made that quad rail and side shell holder for the Shockwave we posted about last month. That’s cool and all, but they stepped it up and came up with their own version of the Shockwave that includes a billet Black Aces Tactical receiver, 4140 nickel plated bolt and slide, the Shockwave grip (obviously), two 5-round magazines and a magazine tube spike.
Mossberg Introduces The 20 Gauge Shockwave
Shotgun manufacturer Mossberg is capitalizing on the popularity of their new firearm model by introducing a 20 gauge Shockwave variant. A quick reminder – even though the Shockwave has a 14 inch barrel and is chambered for shotgun shells, the overall length (OAL) exempts it from National Firearms Act (NFA) registration. No $200, to wait times no registration.
Review: Mossberg 590 Shockwave
After playing with the Mossberg Shockwave for the first time at the last SHOT Show Range Day, I wanted one. Thanks to some enabling from my friend Brian M. I picked up a Mossberg Shockwave at a local gun store for $380 out the door. Not terrible.
